People are just scared that something out there might actually be worth something and they can't pump and dump it. I'm glad you agree that the technology of Monero is the best out of all the cryptocurrencies, and this is the first time we have a chance of replicating bitcoins success.

However, I do believe Monero is an amazing piece of technology and I am not afraid to say it. Would you rather someone who believes in something to hide and not say a word about it? Fans help spread awareness, especially if it is something they believe in. I believe in Monero, as a technology, and a possibility of being one of the most useful currencies the world has seen, much like Bitcoin.
