do you remember what we did to bbqcoin?
shhhhh xD oh shit sorry sorry all im saying is that, if we REALLY didn't like it, it would be noticeable. Its not like we are starting threads or talking shit, someone posted a thread asking about the price of PPCoin and we voiced an opinion....Kind of like you coming in my thread and calling me a scammer. I just don't support it and don't think nothing of it. Dont get your stuff in a bunch Well, you said 3% edge and it's 4% edge, dont quite see how that can be calculated wrong . I know i'd be angry if i'd placed say 10k LTC bets, and lost an extra 100LTC in EV.

bbqcoin is poised for a comeback. any day now. The old "darknet" approach, eh? Yeah quite a lot of players have been picking them up while they're cheap... -MarkM-

Thanks i will invest in PPCoin No. Exchanging currencies is hedging not investing. Maybe not always. Unthinkinbit suggested that buying DeVCoin is an investment in free open source developers/development, kind of like making a donation by buying the coins and getting part of, the whole of, or more than your donation back when you sell them. This is because by buying them you establish that they have value, which helps developers also sell some thus being able to finance their development efforts in at least some small way or part. -MarkM-

shhhhh xD I would very much like to see you try the same with PPCoin. Kudos for knocking out BBQ, you've helped the Darwinian process of cryptocurrencies. At this point in time if a cryptocurrency can be taken down easily then that should be exposed as soon as possible. I think it is safe to assume that people have tried hitting PPC, I take some reassurance in PPC now as it is still up and running after what must have been its most susceptible period at birth.

Isn't it being checkpointed every block by a centralized server?

Yes. There's a variety of methods that can be used to attack that though. Connect to lots of nodes, analyse where the checkpointing is coming from, DoS that node, then 51% attack the network for example.

Alright, time to "noob" myself out here.
I know absolutely squat about PPC and their wiki doesn't really tell me much either, some questions:
1. Can PPC be mined 2. If so, what is PPC's current difficulty rating 3. What miners are PPC-capable?

Is the PPCoin party truly over? I got rented out to provide a lot of hashrate at times during the boom, is it now substantially less profitable than just mining BTC?

According to coinotron it is less profitable to mine ppcoin if your goal is to earn bitcoins by selling them.

For the time being it seems like pretty much everything is substantially less profitable than just mining BTC, the question is will PPCoin's profit margin trend upwards or downwards as time progresses. It doesn't matter how much PPCoin is worth in relation to Bitcoin, what matters is if it's future value will be more than whatever it cost you to buy/mine/beg/borrow/steal the PPCoins you have... Profit is profit...

Yes it can be mined. Difficulty is about 13,000. Any bitcoin miner can be used. Also, I know Litecoin's difficulty is expressed as 2 to the -Nth power, how would PPCoin's difficulty be expressed, or more simply, which has the easier difficulty rating LTC or PPC?
