No if I was Satoshi, why would I return. He already made so much money worth of BTC before anybody knew about it. And if he came back, the World would turn him into a star. He'd be successful either way.

Yeah, but unfortunately for him, he cannot cash out any of his coins.

Yes, I think he should briefly return to giveaway the coins he cannot spend to us, his loyal supporters here on bitcointalk. He could do it and announce what he had done through a message in the blockchain without ever having to log in here, or make any posts here.

how you can be sure about this that Satoshi is a person? it can be a code name or group scientist because that is still mysterious question and need to resolve this thing first who is Satoshi a person, a code name or group of scientist than other thing will be get resolved itself after we have this answer.

I'm not certain if Satoshi was a person, a group of people, or something else. When I referred to Satoshi as "he" I was speaking figuratively. I merely feel if he distributed the coins he cannot spend it could help Bitcoin grow in the long term because the fear he might dump would be gone. Personally I don't believe he will ever dump, but others are worried about it.

I think it would be bad for the price, especially if he moves funds out of his account, causing panic

i think at the moment bitcoin is more than from it's begging and growing steadily than ever, now it is on the way to the mainstream by getting more adoption day by day and acceptance from more big merchants so if there would little dump happens than bitcoin will not be get harm by this.

Do you (personally) think it would be a good idea for Satoshi to return?
Either now, or in the future?

And if he did, how do you think the rest of the world would react?
(Especially some governments)

Well yes , I personally think it will be a good idea for Satoshi to return , he can be the official speaker of Bitcoin and Bitcoin will certainly spread around the world .
However , I don't think he will comeback because as you said , gouvernments won't really react very well and he will be probably be blamed of all the marketplaces on the deep web which sells Drugs , weapons and illegal stuff even if it's not his fault .

It would cause panic and also more attention. You cant predict what would happen, but on long run would not change much.

This would be great to diversify a coin. No one need that much money. Then again, there's this quote of Satoshi seeing he is not a socialist, so i'll guess he'll die a stupidly rich man for the sake of it.

It would undoubtedly cause panic, and probably crash the price, but after the dust settled one of Bitcoin's biggest bugbears would be gone. In the long run it would generate tremendous publicity and possibly spark off another rally after the crash. It could result in much higher levels of adoption.

If he returns, the first thing that will happen is this forum will be full of threads scared about that 1 million Bitcoins he mined.

I said he but I think it is not a single person but a group, maybe even a funded organization.

Well, I think he should. Whether he does something or otherwise to the codes, his return will certainly give the boost in the level of confidence. Probably it sends a message that somehow the developer is still around to support the coin. Indirectly, for others it will give the impression that, there would still be hope.

People will be more confidence with him returning here but there will be a lot of threat to him . I think that he is still here, probably in contact with some of the member of bitcoin foundation and giving advice to them but to return as himself, satoshi, I dont think he will ever do that

Yeah, the only problem is that others cannot sign messages using Satoshi signature  Wink
Also, what makes you think/believe that it is not the church that has been bullshitting you all this time and the real Jesus will come but you wont believe it because that is what you have been told?
Do you really believe in the church?

Or, he could just donate to charity or use it for a good cause, like end world hunger  Wink

Yeah, and then the U.S. will send a drone and bomb the fuck out of it....  Wink

Why would anyone be any more confident? satoshi is essentially powerless to do anything really. In fact, if he did return it would probably give people doubts or worry because they might not believe its him but if it is then there's an issue of what hes going to do with his coins. At the moment they're stagnant but if he mysteriously comes back to life then he may want to cash out his coins too which could lower or crash the value if lots are released onto the market.
