On a side note, why do the people in the altcoin section seem so much more intelligent than the knuckleheads in the general forum? I think when Satoshi vanished, all the good coders came over here. Cheesy

GetGems, very active and involved with the community, has its beta testers groups for bugs with frequent code updates, social media activity is nice as well. CEO is also active outside the Crypto space promoting the brand, example.

GEMZ developers are paid though. They ran an ICO. Once the money runs out, they will have 0 developers. You have to think about that if you are investing in developers.

I liked DNotes too, but more than a year ago my investor forced me to sell 100s of thousands @ about 190 satoshi. In my opinion, DNotes is in top 5-10 cryptocurrencies if we talk about steady and natural growth. No hype, no pumps & dumps and it was even 10% premined.

Maybe a 10% premine is a good thing. It gives the devs something to make valuable. Why should the miners get 100% of all the coins?

I also don't mind premine as long as the dev is active and don't dump his coins right after he see some good price.
We all know what most of the people think about premines though. Many of them want dev who can work 25/7 for almost free and if any pumpers shows up - that's even better.
Sadly people are looking at the altcoins as a way to profit more BTC. At least most of them.

From my experience, i would say Nxt devs are one of the most active ones. They deliver constantly what they have promised.

And thats a good thing you want active ambitious developers as the project grows especially at the time you are building the fundamentals. In GetGems case the developers will be here for a long time, many features still need to be added. Then if you have a really interesting product you can get partnerships/sponsors like how GetGems is getting themselves a potential partnership with Citi. As the app grows and gets popular money will also be earned. Apart from that they can earn from fees aswell, it all depends on the projects popularity, but you don't want a project where the developers have no funds at all i've already experienced that and won't touch such scenario ever again.

As far as the coin itself is concerned, development of StartCOIN is not active at all. It was made, it works, and does what it's supposed to, no need to change anything!

However, the ecosystem around is very actively developed.
