I haven't really used bitcoin yet but I hope to in the future and that's why I want to get more. I think bitcoin could be valuable in the near future but will take some time to grow.

You don't have enough bitcoins to spend?

Do you ever spend any money?

What's the difference?

He didn't say whether he did or didn't have coins but most people would rather just spend cash as they seem to be holding bitcoin for gains in the future and I don't blame them. Would be advisable to hold them for a bit especially seeing as the value is so low right now.

Right, that is the good thing to do, holding bitcoins and keeping it safe for the future is the promising thing to do, as you said the value of bitcoin is comparatively low at a moment, holding it for future would serve the purpose, and if one can buy more bitcoins at present than it would be profitable in future as the prices would surely reach to a new level, that what we all hope and we wish.

The thing is there isn't much you can do with Bitcoin right now unless some special use cases where you may benefit from the fact Bitcoin doesn't carea bout local politics on money. So right now I am going to use it as an alternative to gold, just another asset with very special features, and i'll hold until 2 or 3 years were things will be way more mature than they are now.

Depends. If you live in San Francisco, Vancouver, Arnhem, St. Petersburg FL, or Amsterdam, there's actually a decent number of places you could spend your bitcoins. Otherwise, you're probably gonna hold on to dem coins for some time to come.

I am currently using Bitcoins for gambling (Sports betting) and for Money transfer, where I found biggest advantage.

I like your purposes and I too mostly use bitcoins for sports betting and investing purpose. I usually buy at what ever price I think good to buy and then sell at when I make some profits from them and also use it for some time betting on sports but not very active in betting.

I strongly believe this is not right time to use bitcoin. It's time to get bitcoins. Get it either mining or buying it. May be I can answer to OP after 5 years like I will use bitcoin for my living.
bitcoin was looking for it to be a fun thing, then you might be able to live with bitcoin and make life more beautiful, maybe you can start by playing games that generate bitcoin  Wink

But I just found an online whisky shop in my country that accepts bitcoin!! So I am afraid all of my coins will be gone pretty soon if I do not get some new ones...

I think it should be a fair middle road of spending and hodling, spend to enjoy the benefits of the blockchain and hodl a part for you never know when or what the coin will do, if it shoots to the moon, more whisky for me, if it drops dead, I have spent some of my earnings and can sip away and enjoy some of it for a while, for me, that is a win-win situation.

I hold some, I use some to buy altcoins with potential.
Yeah, I seem to be a greedy "investor", though, since the amounts are tiny.. let's say I just try to get to an amount that counts.
As somebody said "one can be named bitcoiner only after it owns at least one full bitcoin". I am working my way in that direction.

Currently as a speculative investment so don't spend them and spend my time trying to collect more. I think bitcoin could become a worldwide currency at some point in the future and I then I would like to spend them aroiund the world rather than exchanging cash for local fiat.

Same here, I use it mainly for sports betting and online transfers and the best thing about the bitcoins is that you can gamble even with a minimal amount that no other currency allows you, I don't bet on daily basis but when I think that I can make some profit out of it, I bet. Though I am in profit right now but will make sure that make some good profits in future too  Grin

I use Bitcoin mostly for online goods such as physical crypto coins, gold bars and miners. The fact is that Bitcoin makes it a very useful form of payment, considering the fact there there are very little fees compared to Paypal and other payment processors. Another good thing is that I could be able to buy stuff from the Deep Web nice and easy.  Cheesy
