normal price for xyz at AlpNames is $9.50, they provide 2 free mailboxes for each domain and their DNS is pretty fast, faster than namecheap's (tried)

There's no need to receive an sms or call to verify but you'll have to enter a valid number. You can transfer the domain or buy whois protection from there.
