Guys, I would wait. My bet is now closed but still pending. None of the statistics have changed in 3 hours or so now. I am sure it is just a bug that needs to be fixed but I would personally hold off till they get it worked on.

Now that I think about it, this must be a bug. There is no way the air pressure hasn't change at all in 50+ minutes.
Hello, the data is fetched every 10 minutes from the API, yesterday we had issues because someone made a DOS on our website and we lost 4 hours of data, amount during the DOS attack will be refunded

I thought this was a joke hmmmmmmm You can see predicted weather on Apple App Store, various news channels & many other places so isn't it very highly sided in the punters favour? Had a look at the site, looks very impressive, great graphics & I wish you guys all the best with it. It's not something I'm interested in at all though, I don't understand why anybody would want to bet on the weather. Sports is my thing but I suppose everybody is different, I'm sure you'll do really well with it guys. I like betting a lot on sports too,but something new to try in the routine is not bad, isn't it? Hmmm maybe, I'll wait & see if there are any cool incentives to sign up & play in the future. Have you had a go/bet? What's it like, I haven't read through everybodies experiences, I just read the OP & had a quick browse on the site which is admittedly very good (nice on the eye). I haven`t played yet because the weather is not calibrated well. See @turtlehurricane posts for detailed informations: Just realized the way the bets are verified isn't right. This site uses https://openweathermap.org/ for it's weather data, which supposedly has a network of 40,000 personal weather stations. Personal stations are NOT officially calibrated and often quite wrong. The only legitimate way to do this is use data from official government stations such as the NWS stations here http://mesowest.utah.edu/Weather betting is a cool concept, but I don't recommend anyone use this site until official data is used for verification. Far too easy for all bets to be marked as losses, they can justify it with data from any personal station in the city that shows you lost, even if that station is taking incorrect measurements and differs from official measurements. Also openweathermap.org doesn't even show you the station data which is used to verify bets, no way for you to know if you won or lost, or if there's even a weather station in your city. I think their network is actually quite sparse. I think even if I made the most accurate forecasts I wouldn't receive any Bitcoin in return.

The concept is very innovative and cool, and the site looks nice. But OP need to address the concern raised by turtlehurricane, to make the game fair. i would like to know where the data source of the site is getting the weather data and all however this is a unique and fresh concept and hopefully it catches on as im enjoying it i can see out the window to make sure its provably fair lol The site is using https://openweathermap.org.

The only legitimate way to bet on the weather is to fix the bet to a single officially calibrated weather station, due to errors in personal weather station calibration and variations in temperature, pressure, and wind across a city.
Hello, thank you for your suggestion, maybe we didn't said before but openweathermap take also data from other official weather station and organization added to the individual weather station run by the users, you can see here: http://openweathermap.org/datasource

need fahrenheit & mph option
this is quite interesting, i live in FL and if you have ever been to FL in the summer you know that is is sunny all the time but we get what are called pop up storms. major rain storms that come through for 10 minutes to an hour almost every day and then back to sun shine. if you could bet on that, you could make the odds huge because there is no possible way to predict that. cool for thinking outside the box, never thought about betting on weather before. nice work.

The site like "personal" weat, in italy is really out of head why don't use a single officially calibrated weather station, like suggest to turtlehurricane ? Is more fair

To clarify further here is an example from Denver Colorado. Temperatures in the city center are 15-16 C, with lower temperatures of 12-14 C along the outskirts. This is a classic urban heat island. So you can simultaneously win and lose a bet due to the temperature gradient across Denver. Urban heat islands are just one example of something that can cause a temperature gradient across a city, other common causes are lake breeze fronts, sea breeze fronts, outflow boundaries from showers/thunderstorms, and variations in cloud cover. Sometimes you get large-scale cold or warm fronts moving through, which can cause a temperature gradient in excess of 30 C across a single metro area. Due to elevation changes pressure varies from 800 to 840 mb across Denver, so betting on it is a fools game if the bet can include any data from Denver and its suburbs. The only legitimate way to bet on the weather is to fix the bet to a single officially calibrated weather station, due to errors in personal weather station calibration and variations in temperature, pressure, and wind across a city. The reality is if this was done legitimately like I describe, then the coffers of weathbet would rapidly be drained. There is a lot of skill when forecasting only 3 hours ahead, you could make an extremely accurate prediction based on the diurnal cycle and synoptic weather patterns. Even if you didn't know how to do this you could simply use computer model data or the National Weather Service forecast and be very accurate. Usually weather challenges are done a few days ahead of time rather than a few hours. If this site is rebuilt properly then everything can be done with official data while having more than enough uncertainty to be profitable. Bets won't be nearly as instant though, will take days or even weeks to find out the result. I'd be happy to assist in making this site legitimate since I like the concept, feel free to contact me Weathbet admins. Ha nice try, but if they cared enough to have favorable conditions for users then they would be broke..

I'm gonna have to give this a try. We did very similar competitions back when I was a meteorology student, this should be like shooting fish in a barrel It does seem like you have quite the uperhand there. By the way, it seems like the site send me a refund where their weather reporting service was down from, I believe, a DDOS attack. Is everything up and good now? I want to make sure before I give it another go.
