so they finally set it right, i'm waiting like no tomorrow the opening of they exchange, i am excited to know what good thing will bring

maybe i'll do some trade there if i find it comfortable enough
No you will not do some trades there.
You will just continue spamming these forums with your signature campaign.

Yeah , I also have doubts whether he actually trades.  Amph loves to spew random advice and comments.

not random at all, i find my advice to be good enough(modesty aside), and i'm actually doing some trade, but on 1broker, not on a normal exchange

I can't see much price impact. There are already 'legit' options that have arrived relatively recently and nothing much has changed. It probably is a key part of getting the SEC to warm to their ETF so that's the really important part.

Yea it's sequential I would assume. First the get Gemini up and then later will come the ETF. Will the ETF be tradeable on Gemini once approved by the SEC or will it only be on NASDAQ? Either way getting gemini up is an important step for the Winklevoss.

I have been waiting for ages, I can wait another week. Gemini is a major player, it will enable all the clueless people with money to get on Bitcoin safely and a regulated non sketchy way. The days of the Mt Gox era are starting to look more and more like a nightmare of the past that will not happen again.

so are itbit, coinbase, circle, and other people providing "regulated" ways to get in. it's not gonna make much of a difference. It's just an excuse for people to hope it will bring up the price, but in reality, it's gonna be the same result.

What I am hoping for is major use cases of btc, utility vs exchanges.

Yeah Gox took advantage of bitcoin being in its infancy & regulation/controls being lax. I'd like to think nothing that horrific will be repeated in our growing community.
Gemini as you say will change the game, older non tech savvy people will be willing to invest & that's where the big money is tbh, the people who can make a difference.
I really hope we get an opening date soon, I'm more excited about the COIN ETF though, that will be huge.

Sum of parts taking usage higher, investment from 2014 kicking in.

coinbase has a nasty customer support staff, some days are good most days are off.

I feel like them launching the right way will help support our btc price. As for utility, its already being a form of money laundering for gambling sites, so I dont know what else its used for as utility.

It would be useful if they offer a debit card that people can instantly withdraw to from the exchange. If it had no sky high charges it would be even better. Bitstamp offers one with ridiculously high charges and I'm not sure if you can make withdrawals from it at an aTM.

usually they talk a lot, so i agree with you on this. this time their actions will speak. i hope it will lift bitcoin in general. the need for such an exchange is high.

I think nothing. Its just gonna be another exchange but there is hype around it because its founders, WinkleDee and WinkleDumb are somebodys (apparently).

Good grief, the amount of new accounts this numb nut makes is simply astonishing. I've been talking bitcoin to this one older dude (that day trades oil and gold futures w/ some other guy from NYC) that I work w/ for over a year and he's been long awaiting for the Winks to get Gemini up and running. There are legions of traders that are waiting for this kind of regulated exchange to get up so they can trade in bitcoin in relative safety. Plus, there's an aura/buzz around what these Winks are up to.

I assume you were talking about brama making numerous accounts and not me?

Perhaps you are right about Gemini being the #1 exchange. I dunno. It's not like there's a shortage of exchanges out there at the moment though. Also, perhaps these twin brother chaps are a big deal but to me they are just the dicks out of the movie, "the social network". So granted, my knowledge of who they are and what they have achieved is not coming from the best source, but I know that the characters in the movie will be dramatised, so I'm not deliriously saying it's fact. But seriously.... what great success have they brought to the world before?

remember that bitcoin is still tiny compared to the whales in the Wall Street markets.  Gemini will bring bitcoin investment exposure to main street investors. I think the bitcoin price may go up to $5,000 if there will be a big demand.

Unlike the Coinbase launch, Gemini has been actively looking for institutional investors and market makers.

I guess one could consider Coinbase more 'retail' and Gemini more institutional.

The mention in this post http://www.reddit.com/r/BitcoinMarkets/comments/3a20bl/daily_discussion_tuesday_june_16_2015_part_2/cs8thpe

doesn't seem to have been picked up elsewhere. I don't know if it has any veracity at all.
