NXT because of its great dev team. NXT is the "Bitcoin of PoS". NXT or any other coin will never be Bitcoin, but NXT is a Good alt.
Blackcoin has a great marketing team behind and has been known to deliver solid profits in the past.

I'm surprised to see that NXT and NEM have been mentioned several times in this thread. I understand that both of these coins have fixed coin supplies with no inflation and so all staking rewards are derived from transaction fees. Thing is, I checked the NEM block explorer a couple of months ago and I could see that most blocks back then had zero fees. Has the tx volume picked up considerably since then?

Same goes for NXT. According to this calculator, 100,000 NXT (worth $1,300) would only forge 0.8 NXT (worth $0.01) per day. That doesn't seem very high IMHO.

You are right about no inflation.

POS = network security algo.

The OP, and those not familiar with Proof of Stake, often refer to the inflation model as just POS. POS can have inflation or no inflation. I have discussed with a few people who see inflation as 'interest', like you get in a bank, and not what it actually is and it's role in eroding value.

Title should read 'Best Coin for inflation' as I think that is the intention, but posters are reading it as 'best POS coin/platform' when giving their answers. That is my take.

I think CREVACOIN is a good bet for 2015.
this coin is

Headquarters of Creva Group is in Hong Kong and was founded with 50 million US dollars as ‘Creva Group Co. Ltd.’

Its e-money business starts with its branch in Korea, where the Internet environment is excellent.

and soon be lunch ATM for crevacoin, and now, It trading very fast at c-cex.

All this combined makes CREVACOIN a good bet for 2015.

HYP and this is why.

If you are looking at ANY coin, I strongly recommend you look at what the dev/dev team is actually doing. No commits = no value

This post sums up why all this bullshit is a scam
Read It. Hate It. Change the facts that it represents.

I really like HYP and the people around HYP are as good if not better than the huge amount of commits of real code.

Justification:  HBN if you really care about staking options and coin flow control. There is no match.
If you want something new, I'd go for NXT for sure. No inflation = win.

Talking about PoS potential, there might be potential in SuperNet staking coins (OPAL,VPN)

HBN, TEK, CAP - these are all oldschool with more aged blockchain, forks of NVC, which is the most efficient staking protocol developed for BTC forks
OPAL, VPN, BC - new wave, still NVC forks, but with development / features / promises

NXT is completely from scratch and does not relate to these, that's why you may not hear about it so often

HYP is a HYPed HBN clone by former HBN junior helpers with insane advantages for early adopters

HYP is not an HBN clone lol buddy. But sure, I started out with HBN (managed the website for a little bit) and Tranz helped teach me a thing or two about crypto back in the day. There is no denying that. Tranz is a cool guy.

HYP is actually a clone of x11coin, which cloned from MINT, which cloned from bottlecaps. HBN is a clone of bottlecaps of too.

HYP is a community takeover, fork, and rebranding of TRK. They share the first 30k blocks of their chains.

It is possible to create a spreadsheet to find each coins Minimum Investment to Break Even.  Most coins are in the $10k investment category because their advertised APR depends on many factors.  18% APR does not mean 1.5% a month.  We use dedicated RPi2s to process the staking on certain coins that have a low Break Even.  This is what TrustPlus uses to select which coins to buy and stake.

Buy TRUSTplus.  We are building a Financial Platform.

Please ekkp in mind  there is 0 inflation, so you will not lose your proportional NXT % ever unless you spend it

StealthCoin is the best I believe.

It is 20% POS and its price is relatively stable (around 2k satoshis).
