Antminer s3+ setup

can anyone on here help me set up my antminer. I plug in everything correctly. when I type the IP address of the miner on the browser and not connecting to the internet. it say the device with that IP is not responding.

Did you get the miner from someone else or is it one you were using and know it for sure is the IP?

As general advice I would look at connected devices to router try to find it.  Assuming you don't have a lot of connected IP's you should be able to try them and hopefully find it's IP.

I would try finding quite a bit first.  But if you cannot find it resetting it is the next option.

are you running windows 7 or windows 8 on your pc.  if you are download

it will show all the devices.

I happen to have a mac and I have :

ipscanner home   see my screenshot of gear

take a look all my gear has 192.168.0.?


my main router uses 192.168.             0         .1

if your router is a 0 and you miner is a 0 it will show

if your router is a 1 and your miner is a 1 it will show

if your router is a 0 and your miner is a 1 you need to fix this.

if your router is a 1 and your miner is a 0 you need to fix this.

so find out your router's number  0 or 1   there are other ones but that is something else

i got the antminer on ebay they were working fine at my old apartment. i have stop minning for a month cuz i was moving and now in my new apartment with different internet company. i do not have a router i only have a motern.

Looks like two threads.  I suggest locking this one and using other one.  Just makes it more simple to have all info in one place.

yeah you need a router.. you dont have a wireless router with a 4 port switch on the back?

how are you plugging it in? direct to your cable modem?

I read this again.  So you do have a modem from the company.  Does it have ethernet connection on back?  Normally if it's a all in one from company there is ethernet ports on back.

yeah you need a router.. you dont have a wireless router with a 4 port switch on the back?

Do a factory reset, make sure you have a computer on the same subnet, and try to access it again.

Let me see if I understand.  Did you have a modem and wireless before you got router?

I'm checking to see if you have a all in one type modem.   And your plugging an additional router to it.   With only a cable modem how were you getting internet before?  Did you really have a Ethernet from modem to one computer? Or did it have wireless?

The default IP address for the S3 is 192.168.1.99, what is the IP address of the machine you are trying to access it from?

My guess is it's something different than 192.168.1.XXX and that's why you can't see the S3.  You need to have a machine on the same IP scheme as the S3 in order to see it, usually an extra laptop or something you can change the IP address on really easy, then you can change the S3 IP address to match your home network.

What is the IP address of the new router?  Things need to match.  For example, if your old setup was working properly and you had never changed anything, it is very likely your old modem/router was providing addresses to your hardware in the 192.168.0.XX range.  The S3 uses this same range, so everything would have just worked happily.  If you're having problems now, it's very likely the new router from the new ISP is using a different IP range, so it can't see those S3s (which are still using the old 192.168.0.XX address).

Since he replied that he's just moved and these miners were working properly before, I can't imagine he initially went through the problem of setting them up wirelessly.  Yes, the S3 will work wirelessly if you set it up, I posted about it last year when they were released.  However, chances are he hasn't gone into the S3 config to change things around to use the wireless.

We're both trying to get the same info from the guy... and I'm pretty sure we both think the root cause of his problems is the same .  I used to have one of those all in one types (still do, actually), but I don't use it as my primary router any longer... now I've got the all in one just functioning as the modem (it's networking is bridged) and I've got a router that does the actual routing job, along with a number of multi-port switches throughout my house.

We have a lot of the same expirences it sounds like with all in ones.   I had to put in a special request to get bridged mode when I had a all in one.  It was just a horrible router.  But got a special firmware from my ISP techs and got into bridged mode.   After I used much better routers.

And then recently they put in a new line of fiber, and did not even offer the all in one. So made it very easy transition. They gave me a straight modem, love the speed now.

And I agree were both headed twords same info .  OP is quiet so we can hope he got it fixed and just did not update thread.
