but thats the code i've got compiled on my raspberry pi but i have only figured out how to run the MetalCoind function and cant figure out how to get the gui running

you can use a web wallet  for the gui, for example it:  https://github.com/johnathanmartin/piWallet

you only need to run apache+php+mysql to run it

i have re-built it AND added the node in so people don't have to add the node to the conf file.
