Exactly, wait for all the votes to come in before jumping to conclusions.

We had a very close run with the Scottish referendum and it was basically when parliament ran a smear campaign against the independence movement that switched things around quite a lot.

It's propaganda, the BBC is trying to declare a winner already too, it's to try and sway people into voting the way they want.

Something like 'mind control'  Grin, however I also think we should expect the end of the referendum.

Lethn, the figure which you had quoted is the preliminary polling percentage. So far, 13.17% of the votes have been counted (Reporting). The current lead is NO - 60.15% and YES - 39.85%.

The preliminary results seems to be in line with the exit poll results. Big relief for Tsiparas. Headache for frau Merkel and Hollande.  Grin

It's not mind control more like scare mongering, quite a lot of people vote opportunistically, so either they'll vote for who's going to win or who's going to give them the most, it also scares people away from voting a certain way, so saying yes has one will mean no voters might not go out.

Either way let's not jump to conclusions until it's all over alright? Tongue

61- NO
39- Yes

I expected it to be closer than that. Before the referendum started everyone said it was 50/50. If the final results mirror the preliminary results then it's a clear majority in favor of no. It will be fascinating to find out what the exact final count will be.

These BBC people are really pathetic. Earlier they were saying: "It is going to be a 51-49 result, so Tsiparas can't really claim that a majority of the people voted for NO". Now they are saying: "40% is a huge number. Tsiparas has to remember that 40% of the Greeks voted NO". WTF?

Either way let's not jump to conclusions until it's all over alright? Tongue

More than 22.5% of the votes have been counted so far, and the trend is clear (61 vs 39). I believe that the NO camp has won a huge victory, in the range of 20-22 points.

Yeah the BBC are a joke, I try to keep an open mind but I'm just turning off all the live broadcasts now until the vote is actually over, you can only ever trust numbers with this kind of thing, like I said, we had to deal with all this bullshit throughout the scottish referendum, blatantly biased.

imho is not mathematicly possible to get YES from NO, if 25% is counted and over 60% is NO...

It is still theoretically possible.

So far 29.11% of the votes has been counted, with NO leading at 60.64% versus 39.36% for the YES.

For the YES camp to win, they need to secure 54.37% of the remaining votes. Not impossible, if you ask me.  Grin

It is mathematically possible, but statistically impossible.
A guesstimate:
It will be 61.5-38.5

Preliminary results have NO in fact winning.  I don't see how Greece gets to keep the Euro if it defaults.  Maybe it will have a dual currency system or something that will help it devalue internally.

Good Luck!
