Sounds questionable. According to the article they will use a gold-backed central bank premine approach.
I thought crypto currencies were gold 2.0? Why do they need gold 1.0??
Quote
Nautiluscoin was originally designed as stable store of value with a "stability fund" that would act as an internal central bank to reduce the notorious volatility associated with digital currencies like bitcoin. After some trial and error, I have discovered what many others have over the last 5,000 years – the most trusted independent form of money is gold.

In order to create a stable store of value backed by gold, we will employ a two-pronged approach for Nautiluscoin. First, the Nautiluscoin Stability Fund will initially retain a majority ownership stake in Nautiluscoin. As the monetary ecosystem grows, these coins will be sold to meet demand. The goal of this program will be to provide a countercyclical monetary policy that will foster an environment that allows for steady growth in purchasing power.

Transactions must be included in a block to be properly completed. When you send a transaction, it is broadcast to miners. Miners can then optionally include it in their next blocks. Miners will be more inclined to include your transaction if it has a higher transaction fee.

Ooohh, Hazard.
That's a bit harsh, tbh, there's  a lot more to the Drachmae project than just NAUT.

BUT: you are kind of right.
People should not buy into NAUT right now. Really. No-one involved wants this to turn into another pump and dump exercise.
Wait until NAUT is actually being used in Greece before throwing your hard-earned cash at it, and even then, be suspicious and do your own research.

the name itself , shows some kind of irony.
Where does the value go? there where nautilus usually goes -> down!  Cool

I mean with a of thinking you can avoid at least more than 50% of scam coins.

Not relevant because it's not true. Naut is not made with coingen, he originally made a coin in coingen for fun and then later hired the Digibyte crew to build the actual coin for him we know today.

Also how convenient this guy hasn't updated his site in a year and with all the millions of scam coins on BTCtalk decides to come out of retirement to take a swipe at this, who is the one with an agenda?

Also I don't think BK has ever claimed Naut is going to "dethrone" the market from Bitcoin as this guy proclaims. It's a niche coin for a tiny area, nothing more.

Here is a choice quote from the CNBC article that has the author in a tizzy.

Quote
In addition to being able to use the coin online for purchases, I believe there is a fertile market for small business.

Wow what a braggart Kelly is, targeting small businesses, the guy is just outright greedy and looking to build an empire ain't he?  Cheesy

Also it's funny how the site disses on coingen while offering a coin creation service  Cheesy

Edit: oh it's your site Hazard! Should have known  Wink

Whoisdomain for Drachma connect says it's owned by a John Grove.  John Grove who is the 44phones guy at NXT.  Also saw some page which claimed it was: "award winning" (  Huh ) when the website was no older than May 2015.  What awards could the website had won in the past month and a half?  Maybe they had meant designed by an award winning designer, but I digress..

I would have to say this is the most elaborate pump and dump pulled off by NXT since 2014.  The whole Drachma Connect is just another travel website (which advertises to British people who want to go to Greece, but who at the moment is going there?).  The internet is already full of travel sites with huge userbase without the stigma of cryptocurrency.

Also what a major let down when Forbes was talking about some mayor, and it implied a city, but it turns out it's an island of a thousand people and we have no way to verify this information ourselves (beyond contacting the mayor on our own time and he may take days or weeks to get back to us.  Meanwhile this thing was already pumped 200% within hours of it being made public).

Guys/girls: just don't buy into NAUT (or anything) until you actually see it working. Problem solved.

Here's a handful of Drachmae related links:

Overview:
http://www.drachmae.org/

Wiki:
http://www.drachmae.info/doku.php

Drachmae Connect:
http://www.drachmaeconnect.com/

Coinstructors:

44 Phones:
http://www.44phones.com/

NXT2pay:
http://www.nxt2pay.me/

I'd like to point out that Drachmae isn't a project from what you could call the NXT core community, it's being run by Brian Kelly and Coinstructors, with support from NXT and SuperNET.
Nxt is all about providing tools to enable projects, and this is an interesting project, which is pushing crypto into mainstream attention.
Do we want the world to use crypto, or not?

Nobody in Agistri knows about Bitcoin. Not even talking about Nautiluscoin or *scamcoin.

Scam.

Edit: I bothered to post because I don't like seeing my home country's crisis being used as a vehicle to prey upon the uninformed. This article sums it up quice nicely. http://cryptolife.net/scam-alert-nautiluscoin/

Scam.

Then everything scam? You are a scam too Smiley bitcoin scam too? I remember the time people call bitcoin as scam when it was less than 1 dollar Cheesy
Anyway, If everything is scam, then why are you here ? lol

You guys are funny, nothing has been scam about NAUTiluscoin and Brian Kelly. They are actually trying to create a use case for a digital currency and see if it helps. Dont write before you read and think 3 times.

Once NAUT news released, everything suddenly become scam ? Smiley That is hell funny. If you wanna buy cheap, buy it now. Dont throw mud...

Brian Kelly (no doubt he is a great wall street man from CNBC and he does his job well and lots of connections he has...) and Lee Gibson Grant from coinstructors (he wont risk his business) are the people you can trust. Drachmae will be a key project for the future of Digital Currencies, so why not support it, rather than complaining about it ?

Why you keep telling people not to buy NAUT? Come on Dave, I think everyone should buy NAUT and hold on to it tight. Not for pumping purposes, but to enjoy the ride and feeling like to be part of the project... I think people can start donating as well for the island... There is this dev fund, please donate if you want to help. Cheers.

PS: Once this project take off (CNBC, news, world and wall street will be talking about it), soon, a lot of strong investors around the world will join in NAUT. Can you imagine? They dont easily sell at profit, which will make the price stabilized with a small fluctuation. And market cap will probably compete with top 6 coins... Mark my words. And the project is near! So buy while it is cheap and hold on to it. Dont get tempted to sell... You will regret.

+1 this is why i'm buying, all the butthurt kids with their 100 dollar allowances to play in crypto can whine all they like but if you are a typical Wallstreet exec, where are you going to put your money, Another bobsurplus crank em' out and dump em' coin or one created by a respected CNBC host and financial adviser that is licensed/endorsed/supported by a Greek municipal government? It's a no brainer.

Hmmm....good question, H.
What concerns me, and should concern everyone, is the danger of the Drachmae project getting hyped to a point where people have unrealistic expectations. We've seen it happen with NEM recently: a section of the NEM community massively hyped up the  launch. I saw posts literally promising people $15,000 per NEMstake immediately after launch, which was simply impossible to predict (and very unlikely).
But people bought in on the hype.....and then got disappointed almost immediately when NEM failed to go 'to the mooonnn!' and then got further pissed off with what they see as slow development. There are plenty of other examples: how would Paycoin have developed if Josh G. didn't make the ridiculous claim of a guaranteed $20 price floor ?

It's always better to promise low and deliver high, so my advice to potential investors for NAUT and Drachmae is to wait and see. There's still a lot of organisation to do before Drachmae goes live, and the situation on the ground in Greece could change beyond all recognition in the next month.

@HeroCat:
Most of the payment systems will run via an SMS gateway initially.......so no extra hardware or advanced tech needed. Everyone has an SMS capable phone.

@solid12345:
Yep, +1. It is a pretty small municipal government, though  Wink

This is a commercial for yet-another-backed-by-gold altcoin. It's just something to attract noobs and rip the money off them.
I'm rather disappointed...

Sounds like something Kodtycoon would had written.  The most active thread on NXT's forum is price speculation started by Kodtycoon himself and he has been doing these things for a long time.  Kodtycoon is like the Ryan Pumper of 2.0 projects but Ryan Pumper is smart enough to use "hidemyass", unlike Kodtycoon who gives out his personal info.

https://nxtforum.org/general-discussion/price-speculation/

He thinks NXT will hit $100 million, one NEMstake $15,000 and SuperNet will hit Trillions.  I don't think he believes in his own price predictions, he didn't become a NXT whale (post-launch) and NEM whale (post-launch) by being an holder or an evangelical.

Remember we are talking about a guy who is 20 years old, comes from a broke family in Ireland with no assets, and yet a couple years later ranks among the wealthiest in cryptocurrency without being in NXT's original distribution or an early Bitcoin adopter.  He is a multi-millionaire from crypto, due to his pumps and his association with James, while most people like Eadeqa have taken financial losses.

Kodtycoon operates a lot of socks, has inside info on many projects and pumps and dumps (and trolls & fuds on sockpuppets!) for MASSIVE personal profit.

If you want to save your money from that manipulator Kodtycoon then do the opposite of his recommendation.  If Kodtycoon tells you to sell - you buy, if Kodtycoon tells you to buy - you sell.  You only follow his advice and recommendations if you are in his exclusive pump and dump circle on Slack.

Kodtycoon as evil mastermind ? And a NXT whale ? Finding that hard to believe, tbh.

As you might have noticed:  Price Speculation is the most active thread on NXTforum, because it gets used as a general thread for some reason that is lost in the mists of time.....NXT wierdos  Grin
https://nxtforum.org/general-discussion/price-speculation/23960/
Most of the thread has bugger all to do with price speculation, really.

Anyway....back to Greece.
