I am using blockchain.info for few months, but I do not face any such problem as you have experienced and for future information I will note down your points, I would like to try my wallet on Mycelium and read positive feedback about it from our bitcointalk members.

I like blockchain wallet too but since the time that stress test had started i plan to stop using their as the wallet are late on recieving transactions

Why not multibit, seems fast. For Android, I hear electrum is good.

Multibit will charge you extra fees to use their wallet. in other ways they force you to pay fee to the wallet devs in order to be able to send your transactions.
Electrum is much better.

i would wait for multibit 3d if i were to choose one spv wallet, but for now electrum it seems the best one

also current multibit does not look really secure, i heard of people losing coins randomly when performing certain action

Im still reping the good ol Core for security reasons, I was always scared to move them anywhere else. May start migrating to Bitcoin XT if the Core devs don't wake up and increase the blocksize already.

You should really try Electrum. Once you tried it, you will never use any other wallet.
It is simple the best wallet ever made, please give it a try.

I can't import my keys to Electrum, or I can't find how.

Go to the menu "Wallet" -> "Private keys" -> "Import".

Very easy, no problem.

Only thing you whould be aware of is that you cannot retrive the imported private key later using your master seed (obviously). But you will also get a warning about this. All it means is that if you import private keys, then keep a backup of them somewhere.

I prefer Bitcoin Core and a secure non windows environment. For shopping I have only shopped online from my desktop(s), so I have not needed any mobile wallets, yet.

I have to say Electrum is the best one I have used, not having to download or update the blockchain locally is a massive plus.

another electrum fan here.  also it doubles as a brain wallet, and you never have to back anything up except your seed.  the only drawback is people don't tip the servers enough, me included.  no good way to incentivize full nodes for now.

yea agree, there are many wallet, which has their own specification, but you should go for which is more secure and recommended. like
1. Bitcoin Core
2. Electrum
3. Mycelium
4. Green Address

These are more secure and recommended wallet, Secondly see the above Note by admin

News: ♦♦♦ If you are using any wallet other than Bitcoin Core 0.10.x or 0.9.5, then you should not trust incoming transactions until they have ~30 confirmations. More info. (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1108304.0)

Multibit is one of the best Bitcoin wallet out there, very easy to handle and you can have your private keys imported and exported if you want to move wallets to different machines. You should give Multibit a try.

Electrum is much better.

Caveat about Multibit classic: the miner fee is fixed at .0001, so expect to wait in line for a long while if you plan to send coins.

another plus side for Electrum, because you can increase the amount of fee you include in your transaction very easily.

another electrum fan here.  also it doubles as a brain wallet, and you never have to back anything up except your seed.  the only drawback is people don't tip the servers enough, me included.  no good way to incentivize full nodes for now.

i do tip the servers sometimes. but checking some of their tip addresses i have to say people are not usually very generous with them , we gotta do it more to help them continue running this awesome service

some interesting related story:
https://www.reddit.com/r/Bitcoin/comments/3atyuz/to_whomever_donated_2btc_to_my_electrum_server_i/

Weak hands have been complaining about missing out ever since bitcoin was $1 and never buy the dip.
Whales are those who keep buying the dip.
