Well, some possible explanations for the serial transactions:

1. Automated laundry system shuffling the funds in the network.
2. Distribution of funds to arbitrage in various exchange platforms.
3. Silk Road or Mt.Gox enterprise readjusting the Bitcoin wallet storage.
4. Satoshi playing around with us.

I suspect that's the change for SR withdrawals. I made a withdrawal last night from SR, of 0.6 BTC to 1BYhyPtxbnU59NDahJ7DVd8RnwNH1V5D1N, and the change was some 45.3k BTC.
