Through our roadmap, we may start having a GUI wallet that will most probably solve most of your design issues.

Noted, thanks. The project is flagged as an educational exercise; I predict that one pedagogical outcome will be the rediscovery of the oft-encountered phenomenon that UI cannot successfully be bolted on afterwards.

Quote
Quote
the list of transfers has predictably become unwieldy
Does this mean you were able to successfully send coins?

Gah, faked out by UI inconsistency (“list_transfers” (verb+noun) vs “incoming_transfers” (compound noun)).

I meant “incoming transfers”, the “list transfers” is equally unwieldy but does offer a lot more in terms of information, so no, I haven't sent coins.

Actually, I did just try.

Code:
[wallet 9MUf87]: transfer 9EjUxnMqY8AXaCkVUwqfsDQKPyDdVquM1SP5s1kw9D7tbK44KCCUAU8eTLZHDjzv66K15TxSYZ1SwAqjxR12ZXL76NTUDzC 10
Error: mixin_count should be non-negative integer, got 9EjUxnMqY8AXaCkVUwqfsDQKPyDdVquM1SP5s1kw9D7tbK44KCCUAU8eTLZHDjzv66K15TxSYZ1SwAqjxR12ZXL76NTUDzC

I read the help line transfer <mixin_count> <addr_1> <amount_1> [<addr_2> <amount_2> ... <addr_N> <amount_N>] [-p payment_id] [-f fee] - Transfer <amount_1>,... <amount_N> to <address_1>,... <address_N>, respectively. <mixin_count> is the number of transactions yours is indistinguishable from (from 0 to maximum available)

Trouble is, I've no real idea what the terms mean and it's not at all clear what I would need to learn in order to construct a successful xfr:

Code:
[wallet 9MUf87]: transfer 0 9EjUxnMqY8AXaCkVUwqfsDQKPyDdVquM1SP5s1kw9D7tbK44KCCUAU8eTLZHDjzv66K15TxSYZ1SwAqjxR12ZXL76NTUDzC 10
Error: Internal node error

Chicken and egg, unless the UI is brought back to a realistic level of difficulty, the userbase will be confined to those who have a compelling motivation to master the inherent technical challenge. But as I mentioned, I'm ignorant of the project objectives and this may not be a design concern.

Cheers

Graham

I've found the root of the problem for the Internal Node Error.
I'm currently pushing a fix right now, so hold on tight guys.

Will post an update for the Wallets soon.

We'll be adding some guides back at the website regarding sending and receiving transactions using the Daemon, then we'll get to working on the GUI wallet after

hmm cryptonote alg, isnt that right up MinerGate's alley? you should get ahold of them, they havent added a new Cryptonote in forever, if you show your support for the coin they MAY add it! Cheesy

We have been in touch with MinerGate, and we're simply awaiting their reply Smiley
Hopefully they'll add us into their mining pool!

It's already been compiled, let me just put a mirror here.
By the way, the fix is done, but I need everybody to update with me.

And for some reason CMAKE is acting up and I can't compile for Windows right now Sad

The problem is for some reason i get "Illegal instruction (core dumped)" and cant compile from source, maybe broken libraries on cmake dunno, but its my fault.

Yeah doubt it's on our end cuz I just compiled the new fix from source.

hey!

I got some ''stupid'' questions.
Normally i never ever start with a coin without a normall gui wallet, anyway this coin is the first i tried to make it work, and guess what it work.
I started tavosd.exe and waited till full sync, started simplewallet and created a wallet.

I put in the console the command: start_mining 4 ( because i need 4 thread (8total) for my asic miners ), then in the other console it saying that it start mining. but i dont get any accepted shares? i also only see:

trrrrr rollback, i found a block, seems like it dont show accepted shares but only the blocks u found? Probably because i'm solo mining?

Anyway i will wait for the coins in the wallet, so fas so good.. But it will be still beter to have a gui wallet + standalone miner + pool ( i like pools Cheesy ) and i know u guys are working on it so bring it on Cheesy

Edit: a other question
I am testing this coin with a i7 2600 and i found in the last 13 minutes 2 blocks, is that normall? Can it goes faster with 8 cores? This because like xdn and similar coins performs best on 4 threads? Or is it normall that i found the blocks so slowly?

It's normal since this is CryptoNote algorithm which means CPUs and GPUs all have the same chance of reward (1:1)
But of course your CPU was fast enough to find the block. There are already a few miners, therefore finding coins can already be a challenge Smiley

FIX
I've fixed the transaction bug, wherein you cannot send a transaction and it says (Internal Node Error)
https://drive.google.com/file/d/0BwTu0dwreTezaGp3NmdqYzduQjQ/view?usp=sharing

I've been able to compile the source on my linux box, but so far my Windows' Cmake is still not cooperating with me,
so I'm afraid it will take a while till I make finish the Windows Wallet

BOUNTY: COMPILE THE WINDOWS WALLET - GET 100,000 XTV

The Windows fix will be pushed sometime, but for now here's an alternative:

TO SEND A TRANSACTION ON WINDOWS
Code:
transfer 3 (lets keep this as a standard) ADDRESS_HERE AMOUNT_HERE -f FEE

TO SEND A TRANSACTION ON WINDOWS
Code:
transfer 3 (lets keep this as a standard) ADDRESS_HERE AMOUNT_HERE -f FEE

My curiosity is piqued, any chance of an explanation of why three is a good number to use as standard?

I'd also be grateful for a pointer that leads to information on how to calculate the fee.

Cheers

Minimum fees is 0.001 XTV, may increase in the future though.

"3 is the "mixin" count, i.e. the number of additional signatures added to the ring-signature in order to obfuscate the sender; it can range from 0 to >100 (not sure of the max)"

Is there anything new about this coin? Some  new features? Or just a CryptoNote fork? What is a need of this coin? Thank you.
