i read about it on a forum , i think there was a post advertising a faucet if i am not mistaken. then i started earning bitcoin from claiming faucets for a while and read more about bitcoin on the side .

Weak hands have been complaining about missing out ever since bitcoin was $1 and never buy the dip.
Whales are those who keep buying the dip.

I think everyone started like this.. from faucets. It was the easiest way to get some BTC.
If I can ask, when did you first hear about BTC, 2009, 2010 etc... ?

I've read about it an article. Don't remember where, but it was about 2 and a half years ago Smiley
Started to search how and where to earn, used several faucets, then investments, and many other ways. Like everyone here, i guess.

So, this is the most obtuse way ever, but from a browser game with around 200-300 players at the time, called Minethings.
They accepted Bitcoin, and had a link with "What is Bitcoin" and all that.

It's strange how a community of 200-300 people (probably lesser active) introduced me to a community of millions.
If anyone is looking to check it out: minethings.com

EDIT: And they even have a subforum called Bitcoin!

No longer active on bitcointalk, however, you can still reach me via PMs if needed.

yeah i think many people have started with faucets , just look at the beginners and help section and you'll see a lot of new users are using bitcoin faucets as a way to earn bitcoin.
and it was early 2014 when i started with bitcoin seriously and i think the faucet was freebitco.in which is still active until now.

I read an article too, but at that stage I thought that its a scam so I just ignored it, but after few months my friend recommended me about the bitcoin and explained me in detail what bitcoin is all about, And since then I haven't looked back, a big thanks to my friend  Smiley

yea I started with freebitco.in too, it's actually one of the best faucets from 2013 till now.. I see that now it has a really nice design and it looks so modern, it's definitely better than the previous one.. if you want to check it fast: https://freebitco.in

A Friend asked me what's the bitcoin? And I didn't know what it was back then.
Then I look it up and learned what it is since I knew it, I'm using it.

I first heard about bitcoin from a very wealthy client at work who kept advising me to invest for the future. In the after much deliberation I gave in & took his advice.

I invested & kept investing, I still am now Grin

I am under no illusion that we are in a long waiting game now until our investment (those of us who aren't uber early adopters) pays off big time. I predict about 10 years from now 1 bitcoin will be worth 10 times more than it is today, hopefully even more.

As far as my involvement in bitcoin goes I am a HODLER not a spender though I gamble with small amounts for fun. Mainly though I'm a long term HODLER.

a relative mentioned it to me, but explained it very poorly.  he told me that you could "mine" them using a computer, but made it sound like they were hidden around the internet for people to discover.  He also told me they could be used to buy "pizza & drugs".  I ignored him until I saw a "seeking alpha" article about them 6 months later.  THEN I took notice.

When it went over 1K dollars and surpassed gold for a while I think I saw it on some mainstream news like Fox news or something along the lines. A lot has changed since them. Back then I was desperate to own at least 1, now I got a couple. Yes im still poor, but I think im on the right track. Im wiser and im owning some.

Are you a bitcoin fan?
Do you spend a lot of time on bitcoin? Reading news, trading, or even writing your own analysis.
But how did you first hear about bitcoin?
Is it some articles you read about? Or just from a friend who has traded bitcoin for a long time?

Share your experience with us. Grin
i found it by google results. Tongue i was searched about online payments. And surfed a lot pages and websites. Then i found this words "bitcoins accepted". So i just tried to google 'bitcoin' and then i'm in Wink

Even my friend sent me the link to earn bitcoins for free by registering..at that stage I thought what the hell is this?? And he also asked me to watch a video on youtube called the rise and rise of a bitcoin before registering..I just ignored on that day..but one day when I was sitting idle I thought to watch that video, and it completely changed my perception towards bitcoins.
