There are several different types of Bitcoin clients. The most secure are full nodes like Bitcoin Core, but full nodes are more resource-heavy, and they must do a lengthy initial syncing process. As a result, lightweight clients with somewhat less security are commonly used.

Are you a bitcoin fan?
Do you spend a lot of time on bitcoin? Reading news, trading, or even writing your own analysis.
But how did you first hear about bitcoin?
Is it some articles you read about? Or just from a friend who has traded bitcoin for a long time?

Share your experience with us. Grin
I first heard about bitcoin from the news back in 2009 since then I became fascinated with it and wanted to know more so I started digging some information and tried to find ways to earn some but back then there was not many ways like today , so I forgot about it for a while until some day may friend mentioned it in a discussion and said that it was worth about 500$ which made me realize how much bitcoin has grown since I left it , and that motivated me to come back and try to earn bitcoin again and surprisingly I found many ways to do so .

It's actually possible that he read an article about an altcoin first or a promotion or advertisement of it. And so he invested in that altcoin, bought some, and then went to check the price of it in USD. You need to go to exchange for that. But the exchange doesn't exchange altcoin into USD directly. You have to convert it into bitcoins first. Just a wild guess since a lot of people are being into crypto-currency without knowing bitcoin first. Altcoins are getting advertised a lot of Facebook.

it is indeed possible to know from the bitcoin exchanger. Well, today bitcoin has spread to all corners of the world. people are trying to spread bitcoin through advertising, social media, news, and much more. I also know of a bertia bitcoin on facebook. at that time, the news said that bitcoin is a land of gold. so, I am interested to find.

different from my story. before I use paypal, because I was always difficult to withdraw from my paypal account to a local bank. because it requires a certain code and take a lot of the cost of fees, then I saw bitcoin at the local site, then I convert the money from paypal account and convert it to bitcoin

The first time I know of bitcoin, when I saw the news on TV about a group of young people in london who gamble using bitcoin as a payment.
Because I am happy with betting and gambling, then very quickly I know and use bitcoin via Internet. And without realizing it, I know how to earn a lot of bitcoin, and it was very enjoyable.

i think bitcoin still need some more advertisement as the bitcoin users are still very low, only a limited number of people still using bitcoin, if we want bitcoin to provide more facilities to us i think we need to promote bitcoin in our local areas so that people start using bitcoin.

If you know about bitcoin for a long time why your rank here is just newbie? Or maybe you don't count commenting as good way to make bitcoins for gambling? I do like that. Almost everything that I make here I use in gambling.

I've heard it from a friend. I've seen bitcoin somewhere being mentioned and later he reminded me of bitcoin while we chatted and that's when he got me into the whole bitcoin talk. Smiley

First time heard about Bitcoin was .... Huh I can't remember. I do remember seeing the Bitcoin stickers in a few places before I ever knew how to Bitcoin. I keep thinking suprnova.org but no way, that was toast in like 2004. 4 years and a month or so before the white paper. Maybe it was when someone mentioned something about BitTorrent's mining?

My friend told me about bitcoin. If I remember right, he was just starting then but very persevere in reading to know more about bitcoin. He told me what he knows and encourage me to also do it. I just said "Yeah, I'll try." I admit that I did not take it seriously because I have doubts in my skills. But as days and months passed I can still see him pushing himself in the bitcoin business. He is also my classmate too, there are days that he would go to school looking so pale and tired caused by lack of sleep. But he did not give up Smiley . And now he is still into bitcoin, his mouth shut about his income but willing to share all his knowledge and help us to understand what bitcoin is for. Smiley

I heard about bitcoins on internet but was not sure whether its a genuine or a scam and was not aware how to earn them but after doing a good research I came across through this forum and found many ways to earn them and now I am very much satisfied with the earnings that I am making in bitcoins.

The funny part about how I was first introduced to bitcoin is that my girlfriend told me about it, not those computer geeks that I know Cheesy There was a coffee shop accepting bitcoin opened near her house and it had a bitcoin sign on its front door, and after a long time of noticing that strange symbol, she decided to make a research and I was so impressed by it that I couldn't resist the idea of being a part of this bitcoin network.
