How did you first hear about bitcoin?

My case is similar to some other users, I was first trying to learn more about economics, politics and free market related topics, as a consequence, I found content on YouTube that talked about the cryptocurrency, and this made me learn about the purpose of Bitcoin. But to better understand how the currency works and to make sure that it was something serious, I looked for content with a more technical level on the subject.

Well, now i am really fan of bitcoin, because now bitcoin has cross $1023. I don't think that anyone will be here who don't like bitcoin now.
And when i know about bitcoin?
Since one and half years ago, i was searching something on YouTube, than suddenly i saw about bitcoin, in that time, i really didn't know about any crypto currencies, so it was new for me, and i started to search about it, and when i know about bitcoin than bitcoin was $285, and in that time i have money, and i bought 4 to 5 bitcoins and recently i sold them, and you know bitcoin really give me good profit.

Even though we live in the internet era as I have read many of the posts of this thread I was surprised that most of the people learned about bitcoin from a friend or a relative and not from internet. The way I see it it shows that the news by word of mouth is still alive.

Geeky people will easier to know about bitcoin, because it is so related with technology. I heard bitcoin for the first time from my brother, he isn't geek but he have a lot of geeky friends.

A very interesting thing, I know bitcoin from friends and he also left the bitcoin after selling 3 units S5 for mining. He's only know for getting bitcoin is from mining so that when the price of electricity is expensive so he sell the units and leave bitcoin.

True, but I personally learned about bitcoin from the news back in 2010 when they showed a man who was mining bitcoin using 4 computers and that motivated me to learns more about it, but I gave up searching and trying to earn bitcoin because I get sick of the faucets that don’t give me anything until my friend showed me this forum, my point is that news and other sources other than the internet plays a really big role in making bitcoin more popular.

Yes i do.Im a big fan of bitcoins im an ethusiast a bitcoin user and many more connected to bitcoins.I first heard bitcoins when i browse the deep web.I have read an article there that states the programmer that pays 10,000 bitcoins and now its value is more than a million.After that i kept searching about bitcoins and here i come earning through it

I first read about it on a forum and thought that it was a really cool idea but didn't really understand it. I wish I had read about it more because after that I ignored it for over a year before I heard that it ran up to ATH. The classic "I wish I had bought in earlier" story haha

Absolutely, did a presentation about bitcoin for my university class. All the news I get about bitcoin re from here.

Well I've heard about it the first time on 4chan, when the price has jumped to 1300$, then I did some research on bitcoin adn still wasn't clear to me what it actually is. I remember the first time I've found freebitco.in faucet, haha, I used to use it every hour when it became available, later or I've realised that that is going absolutely nowhere. But then I've found this forum, I got a lot more interested, started reading more on bitcoin, watching various youtube videos about it and the rest is pretty much history.
