My best share is over a billion. what does that mean exactly?
{"hashrate1m": "1.71T", "hashrate5m": "1.59T", "hashrate1hr": "1.73T", "hashrate1d": "2.81T", "hashrate7d": "3.81T", "lastupdate": 1440526599, "workers": 3, "bestshare": 1040364338.2521818}

That's the closest hash to the network difficulty your machine(s) has solved so far. You need a best share > network difficulty and submit it first to successfully solve a block. https://www.google.com/search?q=what+is+best+share+bitcoin+mining

what is the diff on your pool? have you put it higher than your miner? i cannot get above 1k on a solo pool should i make my own and raise the diff?
My difficulty is 54 billion because I mine against the Bitcoin Core to support the network. See my earlier post on how to set it up. When I mine against the backup pool, CK's pool, it's 1000. Setting your difficulty isn't necessary. It's done automatically from the software you're mining against. Don't get hung up on it. It's a non-issue. When true solo mining (against your own node) the only share you will see submitted is a share greater than network difficulty. Otherwise, it's just cosmetic so you can see that your miners are, in fact, working.

I wonder if/when you decide to sell your S3 if you can charge a premium, since it's obviously a VERY lucky miner!!!

you are puttign to much hash for solo, i mean how much energy are you using for hoping for one block?. i have an s3 coming so i prentend only to have a s3 mining solo rest will keep on mining. You need to make something if you got money on the machines and wasting energy for " nothing ". I say that 14th is alot for hoping on solo , put one machine for lottery and get some cash for the rest

I'm only going to run this way for a couple of weeks.

I really get a kick out of reading you guys running solo rigs and supporting the cause. "They said it couldn't be done. We proved them wrong!" Another little update. I was bleary eyed this morning and opened my miner's page to look at the shares. He said, "Best Share 562,331,786" and because I was tired I read three more placeholders in that number. So something like this: 562,331,786,948 And I thought...Whoah! This guys the best miner in the world! But then I blinked and saw "FoundBlocks = 0" and had to re-peek at that share number again. oh well, it was an exciting 30 seconds! LOL! Keep on hashing guys!

In the CK Solo pool, how do you know when you've hit a block? 25 Btc in your wallet?

You can also monitor the pool's thread or your miner's status. Maybe there's a way to get a mail notification but you'll have to ask in ck pool solo's thread.
