Solo Mining on an S3 with 51.1 Difficulty - here we go! UPDATE: Block Found!!

are s4 better then s5?

That depends on your electricity cost, budget, housing location. Give me/us more information and you will get a recommendation. The S4 isint bad, just the price its listed at is. And unless you're looking for a lottery, you will have to mine in a pool.

my electricity cost it 0.08 dollar/kwh
I have also 10kwh Solar array
my budget are little open depending on what recomendation people give but max 1200 dollars.
Internet connection are 100/100 mbit.

Not really 0.08 is a bit high and kind of in limbo right now with the S7 coming in but being too expensive and the S5 soon to be devalued. Depending on how much extra power you get from your solar array, then you could go for S4/S5 if obtained at a good price.

I'm not sure whats your true expense is on your solar array but if you have wasted electricity that you dont get to use. Go for it. There's also SP20 units and such. S5 is just easier to quiet down a bit.

Daarn, You may not like it but - my friend - you don't know enough to start buying anything just yet. I'm sorry, but I want you to be successful and you won't be if you just jump in with both feet and eyes closed. The only thing you should do now is read, research, and learn. Been pointing miners (S1/Sidehack) at solo.ck for a week now, Best shares is 8m and 3m. I'm pretty damn far from having solved a block, this is a lottery i'm not likely to win, damn.

Hopefully someone else in the sidehack pool club will do better than me lol.

Im surprised these keeps running ,main question even getting more shares at each block does it still profitable ?I know most people stop mining when bitcoin droped from the 500 dollars ,and well sucess i keep letting an eye on this thread as i know you must have balls to keep mining.

The year's not done yet so yep, still mining. Difficulty is getting insane but like we've said many times "All it takes is one share". You could get it with a block erupter or CPU mining.

I made a crazy ROI already with the first 25 BTC mined so I'm not sweating it. Best share since I posted last was around 4 billion. Since that time I've been playing with Eloipool, trying to get it to work for me. Sparky went offline for a day playing with that, but it never worked so I put him back to work full time again. His best share right now is..... 253,120,154. Pretty good, but not a block.

This thread isn't about profitability or share count, he is solo mining so the only share that matters is one that is greater than network difficulty.

When solo mining is your miner on non stop for the full year or did you reboot in between to clear HW errors. does rebooting add to your time  or does ckpool remember where you were last

What do you mean, add to your time? There is no progress toward finding a block in the first place, therefore it does not matter if you restart the miners all the time.

Solo mining its like a lottery, If you have more power you will have more numbers, but isn't about time. You can have good luck and solve it in your first month or it can take more than one year.

Well soo you both had found 25btc block amazing reward and well this answer to the question about if mining is dead,but one question to you now is after end of the year will you keep mining trying lucky or will stop ?

You could always try renting some hash and hoping to hit... might be a cheaper option for you than purchasing a rig.
