Yes, it's probably his fault... in a way..
But imo. it's not acceptable that it's so easy to steal someone's money that it happens all the time. Theft is much much more rampant from people's wallet's in bitcoinland than theft from people's bankaccounts is FIAT-land. No matter the theoretical benefits of BC...this is a huuuuuge drawback of blockchain-based currencies.
The sooner you realize exchanges and blockchains have nothing to do with each other, the better
That is the same attitude people behind the operating systems like DOS and prior had when they could not understand why the Internet didn't have mass adoption.
If someone said "let's get some userfriendliness then it will happen" their response might have been "learn to distinguish between the website and the underlying structure...the Internet is fine."
And they would have been just as misguided.

Sure, the blockchain is fine, but if you cannot see that the entire bitcoin space has a problem with how people keep their money safe then I think you need a bit more of a holistic understanding on things.
One thing is technology, but technology alone without the adequate user-interface is fairly useless.
