I did connect helix with dna. but thought that the answer was something else.

so googled around for the second answer... and I found Lorreto Chapel. which might have been completed in 1872 OR 1878.
I think that's the answer, but I'll triple check just to be sure. yea. I think it's that.

Bingo! Weird, eh?

In 1878 a dude presents the DNA double-helix and another dude builds a helix spiral stairway [to heaven]. I'm pretty sure I'm the first to connect these dots, but please correct me if I'm mistaken.

It's probably only a coincidence that the spiral staircase has 46 spindle thingies, 46 as in the number of chromosomes there are in DNA.
