http://www.coindesk.com/bing-tango-card-bitcoin/

The move suggests a broadening relationship between Microsoft, which owns Bing, and the digital currency. Microsoft added bitcoin as a payment option for digital content in December.
"The nature of Bitcoin is such that once version 0.1 was released, the core design was set in stone for the rest of its lifetime." -- Satoshi

So how do we participate in this sweepstakes? There's no link in the Coindesk article, there's no instruction in the graphic attached to one of the posts, etc.

Sounds like a great sweepstakes, I'd love to join, but I don't know how and I'm not a regular Bing user.

P.S...maybe this is a sign that I shouldn't be a Bing user...

bing give you free money every 33 days or so.  via rewards.

do 30 searches a day  earn 15 points. at 500 points you can get a 5 dollar amazon card.

To not belong to bing is throwing away money. about eleven  $5 amazon gift cards every year.

Also to not support bing and not enter this contest is to not support BTC

Yeah.  Pretty much.

BUT this is freaking awesome.  To see another big company not only get behind bitcoins but to promote it!  I think 280 might be looking like a good entry price Smiley

LOL, this is hilarious to me.
Why would we spending 33 days to get $5 amazon gift card?
If we can earn much more from signature campaign.

Yes you can earn more, but signature campaigns stay on this forum and are not that visible. This Bing sweepstake action is our much wanted connection to the real world and to one of the biggest companies, Microsoft. I think this is a nice gesture from them and we should take advantage of this.

So I do agree that every bitcoiner should support this and I sure will.

This is funny... Mozilla {Firefox} accepts Bitcoin to ask for donations, and Microsoft accepts Bitcoin via Bing, to pay people to use their browser.  Grin Grin Grin

There has been a lot of fighting in the browser scene, with Microsoft working Bing into it's OS as the default browser to give them the advantage. Microsoft {Bing} and Google work with the 3 letter agencies to

farm information on people, and Mozilla has to rely on donations to survive, because they do not support this information farming.  Roll Eyes

What a strange world we live in........

The existing bing users will earn extra little money! But I have to say Google is still the best search engine. I wouldn't switch to bing for the little money! Microsoft should work on the improvement of its services to attract customers.

Bing is awful. Yahoo is significantly better, even though their search results don't distinguish well between ads and legit results.

Thanks to TheButterZone for sharing the link, i'll check it out.

Bing is basically artificially increasing their searches (i.e., ppl conducting searches), which is the metric they use to set advertising rates. The $5 Amazon cards are like faucet dust compared to what they'll make in advertising dollars as a result. Just another corporation preying off the "poor" to make another $1 Million...it goes against what a lot of us believe in. Remember that before you subscribe to this shit.

Well, Windows 10 integrates Bing as its default search engine in Edge. Tongue Well no one is forcing anyone to use Bing. We know it's awful, but hey, at least they notice bitcoin and try to lure some users to use their search engine because of the rewards! But no, still not using Bing for that reason.

Not today.

only because the reward is very low as a faucets i would guess(i didn't try it...) google instead should follow and do something similar

personally i'll embrace everything that support bitcoin, and at least microsoft has dropped their project against bitcoin, with their storage coin bullshit...

Anything like this can only ever be positive for bitcoin. I'm probably quite doubtful if it'll bring lots of new money into bitcoin but it can only be positive even if it brings in a few hundred new investors.

This is only a small breakthrough but every little helps, as the years fly by we will see more & more well known organisations creeping into the bitcoin scene.
