C'mon now, be fair... the US has killed Saddam, they have killed Osama, Castro is out of office for the most part, nobody knows who the hell is in charge in China, Putin is a huge case of been there, stomped that... who is left to be a villain? You cannot be the gods of the modern world, and the single most important society in the history of our species without somebody to paint as the bad guy- so we worked our way down to Assange on the list of mastermind bad guys. What's not to love about him as the enemy? He's European (like the French), he uses technology (like that interwebz thing and that's where all the kiddy pr0n is) he kicks kittens to death (well, maybe not, but it's a damn good accusation to get the soccer mom vote) he has an accent (and all bad guys since Boris Badinof have accents, sheesh, everybody knows that!) and he wears those faggy emo looking suits with the puffy shoulders (real men wear football pads, and don't need women's shoulder pads to make them look cool) and he is a huge threat to national security (because that is vague and really scary sounding, so that shit will STICK!!)
That evil bastard is lucky we don't just maverick his ass with a little late night drone action, or extreme rendition his ass in one of our friendly Club Rendition vacation spots in Albania or Romania or Tasmania, or wherever the hell they are.

For the record, Assange isnt european, he is australian. Not sure how you could miss that accent. More importantly, he is a journalist. If assange can be accused of aiding the enemy for publishing news stories based on leaked information, then the same applies to the New York Times, The Guardian and basically all newspapers that published WL stories or use leaked documents, and thats all of them. I find this far more scary than the US government declaring some foreign nation or head of state an enemy.

Its important to remember that they didnt start calling wikileaks an enemy of the state untill they embarrassed some bankers

they have killed Osama
So they say. I haven't seen any evidence and am not inclined to take anything coming out of DC on word alone.

WikiLeaks and bitcoins have many parallels, i think this is relevant news. It gives us an idea of where the US stands on such issues. let the mods move it if they wish, i think it belongs here.

Honestly I think it belongs here more than some articles that DO mention Bitcoin, but only in passing. We wouldn't remove all the Silkroad news stories either right? Wikileaks is changing the world and scaring world leaders and Bitcoin is like 10% part of that - that is effing news worthy.
