I speculate the new Spondoolies Golan Heights will come out in two weeks.  It will have 7000 GH/s.  It requires 3576 watts to run.  It will be cool with liquid nitrogen.

So happy to welcome the Golan Heights

what chip will it use?

A "secret sauce" chip.

“Spondoolies-Tech is hard at work developing a third-generation ASIC,” Guy Corem said in an interview with Bitcoin Magazine. “The new ASIC is aiming for a 4X improvement over the efficiency of the second-generation unit.”

It is doable.  With nitrogen at 5 cents a liter, I can overclock the next generation of the Golan Heights chips.   They don't need liquid nitrogen to cool them, but I will cool them to increase the efficiency.  An injection of a liter of liquid nitrogen to cool down the chips cost me 5 cents over a period of one week.  I would expect my efficiency to increase by 20%.  Spending 5 cents to net $10 is a no brainer.

Here is one article on how to subzero the chip http://www.cnet.com/news/liquid-nitrogen-cooled-haswell-chip-hits-6-5ghz/

Hopefully they'll actually sell that gear to people when it's introduced... granted, I haven't kept up with them much recently, but last I remember they stated they weren't going to produce miners for consumer sales after the SP20.

I really like Spondoolies. I loved the SP20, and would probably buy an SP3x if I could find one for a reasonable price.

But if they've got something that competes with new Bitmain S5+, they better release it soon...

Without even thinking about it...

7000gh = 7th @ 3500w = 0.5w per gh...

It doesn't even matter what price this is unless its free & u have free electricity

This machine is not worth any money when the S7 is 0.25w per gh...

Buy 2 and have 10th @ 0.25w & kill the spoondoolies machine..

Here is what they have announced SP50 - http://www.spondoolies-tech.com/products/sp50

The did skip SP40 so there are hopes of a hobby miner to come, but no one can say if it will happen or not.  If it does though it likely will be around 0.15W/GH/s like the SP50.   So a decent amount below the .25 even.

I know my chances are slim.  As they likely will not build smaller unit's again.   Just a lot more money in industrial size gear I understand that.

My hope with SP40 is they make one that would be ok for "Hobby Miners" and still big data center.  Think more the SP35 size so one built for racks.   It would not work for home miners just those with a bigger what I call "hobby mining" area.

But again I am not holding my breath.  I realize like SP gear will stay big.

I never was able to find the source, but a user said that SP did an actual announcement saying they would not make any more small form miners. Basically it said that they were abandoning the home miner scene.

If someone has this source, it would be nice to have, good to know for sure.

But i hope they change their mind, we kind of really need competition to rise against Bitmain. Otherwise we'll get milked by the Chinese.

Yes this is true they said this.  But If you read it again I think you missed I'm not talking 110/120 home miners.  I'm talking about a miner that fit's is server rack vs the SP50 monster.

So i say "hobby miner" / professional data center model I would love in SP40 series.  So it would be made for data centers that use racks but not a home miner, but a hobby miner with proper setup could run to.

Again it is a small possibility chances are it will not happen.

Oh i see, my bad. Well a rack miner that has fan control could be really great for home miner in Canada. Just open the window and the miner will be cool and quiet. For the home miner, its more about being in a bite-sized unit that can be plugged in without much problem.

The SP50 is just a monster you'll be chugging around with a crane or something. So i was picturing the SP40 as more home-miner friendly. Like the SP20.

The did skip SP40 so there are hopes of a hobby miner to come

are zero, they already announced they aren't planning to do ANY more "home miners".

If they do my dream it will be more like the SP30/SP35.  They were really meant for data centers but some used them in hobby setups.   So my dream is they do a upgraded version built for data centers but allow hobby miners to buy.

That SP50 is just going to be a beast with electricity.  You would have to have a data center for it to work for you.   I am impressed if it does match spec they have released.
