of course i would still care about bitcoin. participating in a sig campaign gives you an extra bonus for what you would do anyway. and that's posting.

Of course I would still care about Bitcoin.

That being said, from a professional point of view, i'm not putting all of my eggs in the "Bitcoin basket", so to speak.

I get between $3 to $4 USD per week from signature campaigns, hardly something to write home about. It's just enough to pay for a Happy Meal at McDonald's for my kids once a week. I talk about Bitcoin and Crypto currencies, because I am hooked to the technology, and the signature campaign earnings is a extra bonus.

We <Bitcoiners> sound like freaks and nerds, and I can talk freely here about something I am seriously hooked on like a drug. I think my kids will suffer more, if they take the signature campaigns away. ^joke^

Signature campaigns help to fund beginner Bitcoiner's and also help them to learn more and keep them committed to
the cause. If this forum takes this away from them, they will move to other forums where it's allowed. If they are only here for the money, they will waste their time and they will eventually spam and get modded and banned.  Tongue

Yes then also I will be willing to get bitcoins even there will not be any signature campaign present.

But then it would be boring to post on the forum.
Now we know that we are paid for posting so it's fun.

Well I was active in the forum before signature campaigns, and didn't join one for quite some time.
And even now that I have signature I don't really post much more than before (look at my post history). I try to post only when I can contribute some value to a thread.
The signature payment is nice but not high enough to make me write meaningless posts.

No it is not that way.
You can see from the poll that most of the people have said that yes we would care about Bitcoin.

But without signature campaign the daily posts here on the forum will be much less.

Well..... you're a hero member, for example, coinut pays you 0.0015BTC/post, max 80 posts/week = 0.48BTC/month (if my calculations are correct)...
You'll have to write 320 posts/month = 13-14 posts/day... to get 0.48BTC =~ $130 at this moment (preev rates).

For most of use EU and US members, that's not a lot, but i can imagine somebody from a less wealthy part of the world could make a nice income if he/she had 2-3 senior/hero/legendary accounts with optimized signature campaigns working 5-6 hours/day... I guess $300-$400/month would defenately be possible, i can imagine somebody in a thirth world country would be the village's richest guy by posting on this forum...

This is why i do like signature campaigns... More quality posts = more updates + more content... Google loves regular updates with unique content

So, in a way, signature campaigns make sure this forum stays on top in the google rankings for bitcoin keywords, thus spreading the bitcoin word  Smiley

It is, however, necesary to have good campaign rules, in order to keep the post quality relatively high...

Ok, Signature Campaigners, this one is for you - how much is the fact that you can get paid in bitcoin for posting on this forum the biggest factor that keeps you involved in bitcoin?

"Free" money, right? (almost...we do give up our time.) I can earn some bitcoin without having to risk my own money, right? What have I got to lose?

How many of you have thought these sentiments and can honestly admit that if this opportunity for earning didn't exist you would not care about bitcoin?

Remember, the poll is anonymous...

I started with bitcoin way before sig ad. So, honestly, I don't care.
I have it down there, and I don't even look at it anymore.

Yes, it's a nice way to have some decimals. IT's working ok and I'm pretty fine with it.

But I know there are a lot of people in here that think that this is the forum's cancer.

Advertising is all around us and at least on the internet it can be blocked: even on this forum.

This is to say that for the moment I'll keep it.

Nicely put.  and sig ads don't pay much I agree.

For many of us who contribute useful information back into the community here I think getting paid a few satoshi is a nice reward.  compare it to youtube videos that people create and put up and get a portion of the banner ad revenue.  Ad sig payments ideally should be aligned with the quality of the content and the value of it to the forum community, but that of course is very subjective.

I don't think being rewarded for useful quality content is a 'cancer'.

I would still care for BTC , because i don't  Depend on Signature Campaign for bitcoins as Primary source ,rather i have my own ways , i trade and accept bitcoins as wage.
Moreover i think of Joining a fixed campaign so that i don't have to Spam here and i can concentrate on effective talks.
I have been in love with bitcoin since i joined here.
