ShiftWallet version 0.9.2 has been released. Get the binaries at github and don't forget you need to left click the file link and go to the raw button to download the actual file.

Fixes icon and currency name issues. I'm now going to work on adding built-in support for running shift in the background from the GUI (not mining yet tho) and potentially multi-signature accounts using dapps.

Hey guys. 1st off, congrats on the clone. 2nd.. Ima new to this stuff and I have contracts I want to create.  Im unable to get the mining up and running and have a long way to go to learn this stuff. Im synced and believe im adding some minuscule value to the network and will continue to contribute what I can.

Ether cost way to much for a novice to tinker with and I am not fond of their distribution. I hope to see this on an exchange soon or possibly trade here?

Also if anyone happens to have quick access to quality vid tutorials for a windows 8.1 setup of eth/shift I would be extremely appreciative.(ive looked on youtube, but most vids of developer meetings and is just everyone sitting around talking without any educational structure).

Best regards, and thanks for all of the hard work!

Great to have you here, we need any help we can get:) https://github.com/shiftcurrency/shift/wiki Here you got a few instructions that should get you a basic setup. The texts are under heavy rewrite right now.. but i guess you will manage Smiley

i can make sammiches and coffee.. perhaps a janitor??(jk... but yeah, I can make a good sammich)

 I am connected to 7 peers via my wallet and shift-windows.exe shows 7526 blocks.  Am i adding any value to the network even though it doesnt appear that I am mining?

Difficulty is totally messed up. Currently the timestamp == block number, which means that every block will increase the difficulty, which will quickly lead to unusable network. Better fix it fast or Shift will be no more.

There is still no open source pool for Ethereum available, so the only people that can run another pool are the ones that have already made pools for Ethereum such as suprnova.

I'm not sure what the official SHIFT twitter is but feel free to retweet this:

This is the best coin released in the last 2 weeks. It should be on an exchange within 48 hours.

I could see this coin being added within 24 hours!! This coin is crazy good.

I don't know how to send coins yet though. I better figure that out before it gets on an exchange.

If you mean non-programmatically then just use the GUI wallet Smiley

If you mean non-programmatically then just use the GUI wallet Smiley

from CLI:
eth.sendTransaction({from: eth.accounts[0], to: eth.accounts[1], value: 1, gas: 22000})

This command transfers 1e-18 shf Shift from account0 to account1, gas is optional
The value is given in the smallest unit, because unit conversion (e.g. web3.toShf(1, "Eshf") ) seem not to work.

Any information about the shift units?

If the error messges in the console are right, the smallest unit is Shf (equivalent to Wei)
The others are

"Eshf": "1000000000000000000" (ether)
"Pshf": "1000000000000000" (finney)
"Tshf": "1000000000000" (szabo)
"Gshf": "1000000000" (Gwei)
"Mshf": "1000000" (Mwei)
"Kshf": "1000" (Kwei)
"Shf": "1",

I doubt its the coin.. If you cannot get pool mining working correctly, go solo, the blocktime is so fast that you still get blocks solo
