Slow accumulation is in order as the ask book is pretty thin. This is a mid/long term hold for us.

@team.

All -team funds- were stolen last night. (keys were saved in cold storage) We stopped our codenodes and markets are halted for now. So Nano wallets won't work as well.
We will instruct our forging delegates how to proceed. There is no action required from holders. Your keys are safe as ever.

I see that the deposits are disabled, but you can still trade on bittrex. Bad luck, just when I thought we touched the bottom Sad

Anyways thanks for the info

Well it looks like the price hasn't dropped that much even though 18 BTC buy walls are gone. Good thing deposits are disabled...

very frustrating to hear.  dev(s) wtf, you of ALL ppl should have the best security around.  as long as you guys have halted trading on trex and all exchs then that's good, make those stolen coins null and voice.

please fork asap and get shift back going strong.  it like all coins was going great until the market tanked....many bagholders now lol.

mind you when your tech is out and them order books cleared up, this will mooon.

Oh yeah? Shift is currently $2.8.
It was that much back in June.
Talk about fail.

Fortunately my Shift on Bittrex is fine.

Not necessary.

Of course, this is an unpleasant incident for the team (and a great shame if it turns out that the keys for multisig wallet were actually stolen from one man), but it also might even turn out to be a good way to demonstrate the benefits of DPoS algorithm — even if rollback doesn't work out, the delegates will not allow the project to fail due to lack of funds.

Well it looks like the price hasn't dropped that much even though 18 BTC buy walls are gone. Good thing deposits are disabled...

Yeah, but deposits/withdrawals are disabled and major amount of SHIFT coins are stored on native wallets, not on exchanges. Let's see what will happen after the issue will be resolved. Anyway, SHIFT team has already proven that the project they're doing is at least is proven working and is demanded by market, so even if we'll see a huge dive it will be a great opportunity to fill the bags in anticipation of future growth.

I guess the stolen funds didn't hit the Exchange, right?

Only a small fraction of Shift managed to get out, but there was some ARK, LISK and BTC on the hacked personal PC in cause.

So the rollback has been successful. A part of me is glad cause the whole project would be in serious problems and possibly dead. Kudos to the team and their quick reaction.

But another part of me wonders if the devs should have been more careful and stop this at the first place. Devs should be the first ones to be aware of hacking possibilities in crypto. I mean what if I or anyone else had 500k shifts and someone stole them. Would we be able to contact the devs, stop trading on exchanges and execute the rollback. Well I highly doubt it. And again this was a centralised decision in a decentralised project but I get why they did it.

I'm still a big supporter of the project and the still holding, but just kind of dissapointed with the whole situation. I'm sure devs feel a lot worse.

But I'm sure this will all be forgotten in a few months time and we can all focus again on the future devolopment

Centralized decision ? I don't think so, we all delegates voted positive in a poll to do the rollback, was a decentralized decision in a decentralized project.
Gaben.

It's a good point of conversation, and it probably won't be forgotten. For example, ethereum also did a rollback of one of its first smart contracts. Ultimately the people buying it will be the judge of whether or not it was a good descision.
