Awful performance by Tottenham Hotspurs today, they looked like they were playing a man down for most of the first half. Sloppy defending led to a goal by Gent and hardly created any clear cut opportunities to get an equalizer. Mind you that Gent had the worst defense in all of the teams that qualified for this round but still managed to keep a clean sheet. It feels like EPL is not good enough with respect to other leagues. The team which is challenging for the title cannot even find a goal vs a team which is 8th in Belgian league.

There's Tottenham as well in the race to win the Europa League and they are at the same level as Manchester United if not better. You can never rule out the spanish teams as well. There's Villarreal and Celta de Vigo this time in contention. Roma too could cause some problems or even reach the finals.

Wow, Spurs didn't even have 24 hours to enjoy Arsenal's defeat. A Belgian side beating a Premier League side is inconceivable, given that it is the best league. That must be down to how much of a "competitive grind" Tottenham face domestically. They probably "don't take the EL seriously". The games against Stoke and Middlesborough "week in week out" are so "demanding", that you can't be expected to beat Gent. You have to have a lot of respect.

Meh.  The Spurs are known to suck when playing in a European clash.  They didn't do well in the CL and they aren't looking good in the Europa League.  They could still turn it around tho.  They could score 2 goals easy vs Gent on a good day.  And being at home helps a lot in football.  There's a statistic that teams at home win 30% more than when they are playing away.

Happy about the team play.Not too hapy about the result.It should have been at leat by 3 or 4 goals difference based to the games. Everything is posible (remember vs Dormund in 2014,or Monaco in 2004). Anyway, from what we saw yesterday Madrid is a level above Napoli, the team just needs to improve the shots/goals ratio (we miss someone like Van Nistelroy) everything else was perfect.

Some unexpected result were last night in some games no matter that i lost bet on goals on Villarreal game with Roma i didnt expect that Roma will win with 4 goals. I wouldn't count on Manchester United because the Europa League trophy is not Mourinho's priority. However if he is uncertain about placing high enough to secure a spot for next season's Champions League he might want to push his team to win Europa League and gain an automatic entry. But I think Mourinho would want to place higher in the Premier league for sure.
