Thanks for your post.

Was thinking of looking at some of the other cards sometime this week and now I have a nice summary to work from.

I have a Bit-X and a Xapo card on order. Guess I'll be using the Xapo one the most due to the free POS purchases. The 0.002BTC for POS purchases on Bit-X does not seem that high but it quickly adds up when your local currency is not the dollar and also if its much weaker than the dollar.

Edit: Just did a quick calculation. The Bit-X card actually works out cheaper for me for POS purchases.

With Xapo there is no fee for the POS purchase but there is a 3% currency conversion charge (guess this applies if not in US$),
With Bit-X its 0.002BTC +1% for a POS purchase which actually works out cheaper as the amount gets larger (obviously dependant on what the bitcoin price is at time of transaction)

This should be a sticky on the Bitcoin Discussion 1st page to be honest. If we want to achieve mainstream adoption then we need people to spend bitcoin. Has anybody got any experiences using bitcoin debit cards that they could share with us? Do these cards work at regular fiat accepting merchants, in normal chip & pin store checkouts?

Elwar was about earlier, I'm sure he will have used one or two of these service providers.

It would be great to see some feedback from those who already have used one of these cards.I am watching for quite some period but still didn't step in to take one for me.

Same. I've thought about getting one for a long time but never had the balls or conviction, whatever, to take the leap & order one. I'd like to see some sort of feedback from a number of respected bitcointalk.org members before I feel compelled to get one  Embarrassed

I've used all 4 just fine.

The card I decided to stick with was the Bit-X card, it was the best suited me.

Overall I prefer debit cards over prepaid debit cards.

1 - In order to cashout from ATM , every transaction amount must be less than 70% of your balance

2 - its funny how they say Monthly fees is free for the first 10000 users ... (MotherFuckers)

3 - Fees are too fucking high and so shady.

Edited to be less flashy.

I assume you're the same 'person' as https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=540093 ?

I replied to the same 3 sentences of yours here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1141188.msg12045877#msg12045877

Also, what exactly do you mean by "And other things i think a respected member will mention them soon ."

I've used the ANX card which works at US card places. It's pre-paid and charges 5%. Too much for my tastes.

I have a Bit-x card, you choose between EUR and USD. I chose EUR since I'm in Europe. Tried it on the military base which is US based and it was declined (expected).

I will try the card some time this week, I usually just pay for cash for everything so this will be different.

I think I ordered a Xapo card like 2 times, I've never received it.

Bit-x dropped their monthly inactivity fee as far as I could tell.

First seastead company actually selling sea homes: Ocean Builders https://ocean.builders  Of course we accept bitcoin.

What's misleading with that point? It's stated on the site (https://bit-x.com/guide/bitx-cards).

Quote
The maximum amount that can be spent in one transaction must be under 70% of a user's available balance when converted to the card's currency.

This is to make sure that users' transactions go through. Maximum transaction amounts are shown in real time on the site too!

Once 70% is spent, another transaction can be made with 70% of the remaining balance and so on, or withdrawn as BTC or any other curreny.

I was told that this limit will increase in the future.

Just letting you guys know and read carefully the terms from each site.
These cards are for people that have a good amount of bitcoin flow, because you must use your card for not being charged with a monthly fee.

There are no monthly fees on any of these cards. The Xapo card is the only with a term fee which is yearly and only after the first year.
