Paul Pogba 'handed lengthy ban' after failing anti-doping test

Pogba, 30, was provisionally suspended back in September 2023 after his initial sample showed DHEA was found in his system which can raise levels of testosterone.

In October 2023, his failed drug test was confirmed after his B sample returned a positive result.

The former Manchester United star was selected for random testing after Juventus' game against Udinese last August.

He was an unused substitute in Juve's 3-0 victory.

According to the report, "the prosecution did not believe the defense's version of accidental intake of the substance. Key point for Pogba's lawyers, who had rejected the plea deal."

It's suggested this could spell the end of his illustrious career, with the Frenchman turning 31 next month.

Well, this ban has indeed been accepted by Pogba. But in this case I am personally very concerned about Pogba because getting banned from playing for 4 years is the same as making this player have to give up his football career sooner.

Well, even though Juventus still has big ambitions to catch up Inter, but the 12 point gap is still a safe position for Inter. The championship is still long and 12 matches are still missing at the end of this Serie A, 12 points of detachment are many but until mathematics do not condemn Juventus in second place, they have every right to try! It's indeed sad that such a skilled player should get do careless and use drugs just boost his performance on the field. I guess if he's asked why he did it, he'd say it's so he can be more valuable to the team and I'm here asking why such good players will choose to cheat and risk their careers in the process. I wonder if any club will be needing his services after he serves his ban since he'd be 34 and for some players who take such hiatus from the game come back rusty and will settle for scraps just to remain useful.. such a sad pause to a budding career such as his.

What is your opinion about Napoli? It seems like they have fallen off a lot. I believe that should have performed far better compared to what they have done. Even if we look at just the last 5 matches from them, we will see that they have not done well at all. they only have one win In the last 5 matches.  that is not good at all from the team which is the defending champion of the title. I also believe that it is just a matter of time before Osimhen leaves the team. Because I don't think that he is going to be the player that he wants to be if he stays in the Napoli team. Still not certain about which club is actually going to get him.  but in my opinion he is leaving for sure.  unless somehow  Napoli manages to actually Defend the title successfully,  which seems to be almost impossible at this moment.

At the moment for Napoli they don't need to think about the Scudetto because they won't be able to get it but they certainly have to think about how to be consistent in order to get back into the Champions League position or at least in the Europa League so that they are not too far from the slump in performance.

Napoli has no chance to win the Scudetto. We can see that they are in the 9th place now. It is impossible to overtake Inter Milan in the top of the table.  
Even, Napoli seems to have no chance returning to the top 5 of Serie A table. Napoli is no longer a strong team, they are just a mediocre team now. Signing a new coach also doesn't fix the problem, the performance of Napoli is getting worse. In my viewpoint, Napoli won't finish this season in UCL zone, nor in UEL zone. They only has the chance to finish in 7-8 of the table.

I think his time in the entire professional football is over. He is aged already, he have several problems that are not physical which was the main reason for all these cases, I am sure no team will be willing to take him as a player after four years of these ban, he will probably not be able to play by then.

If I were him, I will just officially retire from football since he has already achieved a lot in football including World Cup.
