Losing a striker like Rettegui is a big loss for Atalanta especially if you see how Rettegui played well for Italy team in two latest matches for World Cup 2026 qualification. He can score goal, make assists or key passes to his team mates, and he is a more useful striker compares to Scamacca who only has necessary skills of a traditional striker.

Scamacca have been doing a pretty good job since joining Atalanta, last season with Retegui stealing the show still manage to score 12 league goals. I think he might be able to fill that spot for Atalanta this season, he has even scored already this season. I think lookman will be back in action after the international break so their performance might be better.

Scamacca is not a striker I can believe in as his playing style is too slow while not flexible and he does not have too good combination with and support for his teammates. Last season, Retegui and Scamacca had their best seasons and let's be fair, Rettegui did not steal anything from Scamacca. They just did their personal jobs well and Atalanta got benefit from their good performances.

As for the case of ademola lookman, I don't really know how his relations with the team is, if he will be reintegrated into the team or not, since his plan on moving away didn't materialize, but since the transfer market is closed, everyone needs to keep their grievance aside and work for the betterment of the team, he has to be brought back into the team  because they needs his creativity.

Atalanta is beginning to degrade out of the team it used to be and this is majorly due to the way they built the game initially around Ademola Lookman the previous year. This is not to justify their dwindling stance but to urge the team to look inwardly, in as much as Ademola Lookman could not secure a move, he should be integrated into the team while coaching up his replacement. The team misunderstanding is also influencing his output in this ongoing international game.  You can tell his unsettled heart from his countenance during the break.
