This season, Serie A is a bit competitive, which means any mistake or lost game from the first four teams will make them drop drastically and even find it hard to meet up again. But in this case, Inter Milan are still in good form, which we can all see from their improved performance. However, that doesn’t mean they will win the championship, because they are still focusing on the Champions League. On the other hand, AC Milan are only playing in Serie A, which gives them more chances to focus and surpass Inter Milan in their position. If that should happen, then Inter Milan will find it hard to meet up. If I were to mention my favorite to win this title race, it would be Inter Milan or AC Milan.

None of the four teams currently dominating the top four can afford to lose considering their current points difference is only a few points. Any team among them would certainly drop from their current position before this week's match. So they're really focused on their respective teams focusing on their current performance. However they don't actually need to think about that, because if they do, they'll only be burdened before the match which will ultimately be detrimental to their respective teams.

On the other hand there are teams among them still competing in the UCL making for a very busy schedule. However there are teams like Roma that only compete in the Serie A. This is certainly a slight advantage for them especially since they are currently coached by a coach whose experience is undeniable. Last season Atalanta was a team to be reckoned with by the teams competing in the UCL. This is actually very advantageous for them as they only need to focus on one competition namely Serie A.

Everybody's talking about scorers but nobody's asking why are the goals so low this season? Lautaro scored 8 goals in late December. Immobile had 17 by now back in 2019. The winner of this year may end up with 18-20 goals total. The goals dried up because Italian football went full defensive nerd mode. Every team's got analysts optimizing their low block positioning and it's killed the game. You watch and it's just... passing around the perimeter forever because the middle's locked down tighter than a bank vault.

That's why Paz is so valuable despite the fact that he plays for Como. He's one of the few players who are able to actually break these defensive walls down through dribbling through them. Same with Dimarco at Inter. He just spams crosses until one works because that's the only way to make chances against these low blocks.

Pulisic's not surprising if you know what Milan's game plan is under Allegri. They sit back and absorb pressure and then hit you with one chance. Look at the derby - Milan only barely touched the ball in Inter's half, scored off of a rebound, and then locked the game down. That's Allegri football. One moment of quality and then defend for your life. Pulisic's just the guy that just happens to be in the right place when that moment comes.

Serie A has always been very tactical-focused and most teams want to defend their goals and keep clean sheets. It's like that now and it was the same 20 years ago. I think the year was 2008, when del Piero was the league's top goal scorer. He scored only 21 goals that season. 

In the years when Juventus dominated Italian football and won nine consecutive titles, they never had the league's top goal scorer. But they had the best defense under Conte and Allegri.

I remember when a reporter asked Chiellini which result he prefers more: A 1:0 win or a 3:1. He said a 1:0 win. If the team concedes a goal, it means he didn't do his job properly, so he prefers a clean sheet. Let the attackers and those up front worry about scoring goals. His job is to prevent them. Normally, w hen a team is leading by a lot, they can afford to rest their players, but when they can't it becomes injury issues. Like look at Napoli, they won the supercup but they are all injured because they are playing hard in every part and can't rest and that is causing issues for them.

It is not easy to play in that many competitions and have 50+ games a season, players get injured. I am sure that we are going to see things change with time but the reality is that Napoli will end up with a lot more point losses when it comes to end of the season, the last month or so will not be easy for them at all.

It cannot be denied that when there is fierce competition, there will definitely be many players who suffer injuries. Napoli, due to fierce competition, now has many injured players, even though they have just won the Supercoppa Italiana title. But what can you do? Winning the title is the priority, and every team has to fight as hard as possible. Of course, it would be better if every team could maintain their performance so that no players get injured. However, Napoli players are currently suffering from many injuries, and Conte must now try to get the available players to perform well. In my opinion, Conte has done a good job in leading Napoli to win the Supercoppa Italiana title.

It seems Napoli will likely struggle to win the upcoming match due to injuries, but we don't know what will happen. The odds are good, but I remember betting on Inter the last time these teams played each other last season in Serie A, and Inter won 0-2. I think Inter is stronger now and capable of winning, but I think there are easier matches this round, such as:

Pisa - Juventus (Juventus 1.5)
Cremonese - Napoli (Napoli 1.55)
Milan - Verona (Milan 1.38)

But the odds are lower here, and you'll probably need to choose several matches to get good odds. I'd probably choose a Juventus win and Inter win with a handicap (0) a more reliable bet, although a Milan and Juventus win also looks good...

I like your choices here. But note that this is also quite a risk just as my picking Inter to win.    Expecting all these 3 favourites to win on the same match week I mean.

If you ask me about which one I'm not sure of the most here, I would say Juventus... They still don't look convincing enough to me this season. They won 2 tough games in the league recently but they always have the potential of messing up.

There is a possibility of further changes in the points table. Inter milan has taken the top spot in the table for the first time this season. Anyway, in their next match, they will play against a talanta. Although atalanta is behind in the points table, this team is strong and has  been in good form recently. Therefore , earning  full points against atalanta will be challenging for Inter Milan. Inter milan's performance is still not entirely consistent.

My fight for the title is definitely going really well. After my initial doubts about Chivu, i have to say he's convinced me, and i am a very critical person, even with my own team, so i don't spare criticism of anyone.

Teams that play at a high tempo always have a harder time; the more matches they have in their schedule, the less chance players have to rest. Especially considering they might play two matches in some weeks, dropping points is quite normal. Napoli's schedule is also quite demanding, but winning a cup has been very beneficial for them because it has boosted the motivation of both the players and the team management.

In Serie A, the teams are very close in strength, and any team that makes a mistake will regret every point lost. Therefore, Napoli must focus on their matches, otherwise they will fall behind in the title race

All the good weeks they saw is what has giving them this position but this week 16 might actually be very different or worst for them because any team between the high table of every league is considered fierce and not easy for any team including those that might be at the higher top. A strategy that is well practice and use for so many times with high working perfection should be use by Atlanta against Inter Milan and they will win but if they start the match with some method they're not sure of or decided to explore if they can break Inter Milan might actually ruined any wining for them.

This is exactly what Inter Milan experienced last season, as the congested match schedule cost them the chance to win the Serie A trophy, while Napoli took advantage of that advantage. Besides Roma, Milan could also pose a threat to both Inter Milan and Napoli because they are not competing in the Champions League, allowing them to focus more on facing the Serie A competition.

The concern isn't the busy match schedule, but rather injuries to key players, which could impact the team's overall performance. If the squad depth isn't particularly strong, this problem will be even more difficult to overcome because the coach doesn't have the option to rotate players if needed and usually in crucial matches it will cause problems.
