I think Milan has definitively lost second place. On top of that, there’s talk that Allegri will become the coach of the Italian national team, which is another blow for Milan and for the players, who, on the whole, had started to play well.
Milan remains a team in need of a rebuild: Leão is useless, Modrić is the team’s leader but he’s 41 years old, and Fullkrug and Nkunku aren’t very effective.

Allegri is a good manager, if given the Nation team job of his country Italy I believe that he is going to make a good coach. Allegri is one coach that has worked with so many clubs in the Seria A which has exposed in to so many Italian players not to talk about his wealth of experience that, he has gathered over the years as a coach. Disaster? I think your forget with Allegri achievement by winning Scudetto trophy with Milan and Juventus although in last few season get stuck when becoming the manager. I think Allegri will focus with Milan until the end of this season and has ambition make Milan can participants at Champion League next season by finish at top fourth standings.

It's difficult for a team to replan and add new players to its squad every year. Milan's participation in the Champions League might be a consolation for them, but they need to prepare well for the competition. A team struggling in the league will almost certainly struggle even more in the Champions League. Winning the Serie A title could be a driving force for a team, but Milan doesn't seem likely to achieve that this season.

I completely agree with your assumption,, my friend, because it is true that currently, Milan's main focus should be securing a ticket to the UCL for next season. Napoli were supposed to be a contender but they lost De Bruyne and Lukaku, two of their main players, and they don't have the save squad deepness and quality that Inter have.
