Milan have won two Champions Leagues and lost one

There is just no way we can compare today's Serie A to the previous golden Era of like 2o years ago because clearly the modern football game has been very dominated by the heavy financial power of the English Premier League. Italy back then had all the resources to buy quality superstars but today all the add-ons like television rights and some foreign investments now sit in England. So Italian teams can not in good conscience, just throw money at ready made stars anymore, they have to be very reliant on good scouting and their young academy talents to survive the system.

The reason why the Italian teams where dominating Europe in the Nineties is that they invested in player. There was high competition in the Seria A then so teams like AC milan, Inter Milan, Juventus and even Roma where all doing well at their own level. Como have really done so well since Fabregas took over as head coach. They are one of the best teams in their league so far and I'm tipping them to go far in the champions league as well. Fabregas is really building something special in that team and with time, I see him  as someone who would go on to be one of the best coaches in the world with time, and I know a team like Arsenal will come for him in the nearest future if Arteta eventually leaves one day.

Everything Arsenal actually doing in the premier league, is what Fabregas wants to emulate and make his team play. They also want to be one of the most defensive teams in their league, just as Arsenal is, and I think with all these experiences Fabregas has gathered, winning  their games won't be hard. The fact that they could not win against Frosinose does not mean they aren't good. They are a very solid side that will bounce back.

There was a time when Italian teams were the Champions of Europe; the times where Juventus, AC Milan and Inter Milan dominated Europe. It's not just about the mentality but the absence of notable players that could compete for European trophies.
