Bayern Munich tried Mane with Muller in the attacking line side by side and I think that it was a successful attempt also. Because Mane scored a goal in the Super Cup match. But until then they might continue to use this style. Mane is used to play as a striker also sometimes so this isn't awkward for him already.

I also watched the match and i have to say that Bayern looked quite strong in some parts but also a little shaky at the same time. The whole offense did work surprisingly well for me and i have to say, that at least in yesterdays game it was not obvious that Lewandowski was missing because Müller, Mane, and Gnabry made a great game.
At the same time, the defense look just as shaky as it was in the last season. Of course De Ligt needs a little more time to get used to Bayern and the way that they are playing.

It's not about them changing formations, it is about them finding a better way to fit the players they already paid a lot to. I mean do you really think that they made all these transfers so that they could bench them? Of course not, but not all of them play in different spots, they overlap which means that there are two options.

Either you are going to make them play together and find a different method of doing that, or you are going to keep one in the bench and just spent a ton of money for nothing (or bench your existing successful player). My opinion about this topic is like this. Bayern Munich have four right-backs in total now. It is the same for centre-backs as well. Pavard is a skilled defender and versatile as you said. Chelsea would make use of a player like him too much now. His market value is 30 million euros and I think they can have a deal at a level around 40 million the most.

I guess, Frankfurt will not miss this opportunity to defeat Magdeburg 2-0 for the favour of Frankfurt. In the last match, Frankfurt won 5-0. It was a very dominating performance from them. Even though it was club-friendly, I have to say they performed really well and they will be heading into the DFB-Pokal match with great confidence.

After that, we will be able to understand how they are going to perform without any new striker. I don’t think it is going to make much of a problem for them in Bundesliga.
