What an insane performance by Schalke today! They really needed a win to improve their form and have faith for not relegating from the Bundesliga as well. It looks like they have their incentive for that now. Because they defeated Hertha by a really huge result like 5-2 home. This must even be their top game in this season. It was really important to win like this for Schalke because they were struggling a lot about scoring goals comfortably.

If things go in their way about the other matches as well then Schalke can really be in this race to stay here. But even if they managed to make it they still need to make a huge improvement in the squad. I don't think it is only due to the management. They really need a little more qualified players to be able to go for upper positions easier than now.

The score was quite striking in this match. Hertha didn't really focus at the start of the half and they did it again and again.
After 2 quick goals in the first half they also made the same mistakes in the second which made it even more difficult for them in this game.
Their concentration was bad enough at the start of the half that they were messed up in this match even though 2 goals were good enough but with the previous 3 goals mistakes at the start of the half making their 2 goals turn nothing for them.

Schalke did quite an extraordinary job they really targeted 3 points in that match and schalke managed to achieve it with a final result of 5-2. However, an additional 3 points have not been able to get them out of the relegation zone but their efforts have been seen from now where they will try hard for the rest of this season to win every game with the target of getting out of the relegation.

I do not expect Bayern Munich to make a comeback after what happened in the first leg. I think they will try to perform better in the second leg and see if they can actually make something out of it. But it is really going to be very hard for them to pull off.

You shall see the results based on the last five matches that already passed by hertha. Hertha was never winning even a single match in the last five matches. Schalke is trying so hard to make sure if it will not be placed at the bottom of standing. Schalke's performance shows a lot of good progress. however, the victory against herta cannot be used as a good benchmark to know how powerful schalke itself is right now. We will see how good progress that already been shown by Schalke after we can see that Schalke will be able to win against at least a mid-table team. Schalke and Hertha are playing poor football so I don't expect much from them and every result would seem logic. What was quite interesting here is the number of goals scored in this game. 7 goals, 5 by Schalke and 2 scored by Hertha.
As you said for the ranking, I assume it will remain the same especially with Stuttgart facing Dortmund tomorrow.

Schalke had no choice. Winning any games until the end of season is a must for schalke. Schalke needs to leave the relegation zone. Now, after the opportunity to advance to the semifinals of the Champions League is running low, Bayern Munich certainly won't want to slip again in the Bundesliga.
