If the new Champions that will emerge this season will be Dortmund, that will be very nice because the last time Dortmund were the Champions of the Bundesliga was long ago, in the 2011/12 season. Ever since then, they haven't smelled the trophy; only Bayern Munich has(It is their birthright to lift the Bundesliga every season).

Let Dortmund continue with their unbeaten run; who knows, Bayern Munich can fall off with points because of their key players getting injured

for now it seems like a good fight, both teams are playing excellent football, i would also be happy romantically if Dortmund become German champions again, i hope they will do their best to get to the end and i don't think it will be a difficult job, seeing them both on 18 points is really nice.

Dortmund care doing well at the moment, no doubt, but am I convinced they will remain up till the season is over? No. That's the problem some of these Bundesliga teams have, they know how to fight at the beginning, but finishing it well is always a problem, and that is where Bayern Munich have the edge over them. Despite how Bayern seems inconsistent now, I still believe they have what it takes to retain their tittle, and optimistic that Dortmund will drop points along the line.

It's a healthy and competitive battle between them, we lovers of football want to see another team lift the Bundesliga tittle because we are tired of Bayern winning it every year, but  they always disappoint us. Now it's Dortmund we are all hoping for to keep a strong fight with Bayern, however, injuries and fatigue will still be a stumbling block on their way

It's not a lie that Leverkusen was a one time wonder, but they have maintained that top 6 form for a while mow, they are good where they are currently and do not have what it takes to compete with either Bayern Munich or Dortmund just yet. Dortmund had a good game, my prediction for them was not a loss, I did not think that Bayern would have it easy against Dortmund and that is exactly how it played out.

Bayern Munich will not be having an easy season like the previous season, their focus on both the Champions league and domestic league could make them lose on both ends.

I believe many people have reduce their expectations for Leverkusen since the last season. They are no longer the top contenders for the title, they are still struggling to get a win the league like they did last season. Two defeats in a row is unacceptable. The first defeat was Hoffenheim by three goals, I thought they would learned from that before they played against Stuttgart, but the same result by conceding four goals at home.

Of course, Bayern Munich should focus on one major trophy this season, putting much effort in two tournaments isn’t going to be easy for them. I said this last season, Bayern Munich have won the league title for countless years, and if they want to win the Champions League, they need to rest some of their key players in the league matches. The Champions League should be their only priority now, not the league title.

The point they earned away against Bayern Munich is highly valuable at the very least, they managed to keep pace with their rival. As it stands, both teams are level on points.
Dortmund came back from Bayern's field with 1 point, which is a positive result for me at least. Especially after falling behind twice in that match, they managed to equalize, which was quite difficult. However, it would be foolish to assume that their overall performance is also equal just because the two teams are equal on points. Both teams have completed 8 matches and each has collected 18 points. Even though both teams have won 5 matches and drawn 3 matches. Even if these factors match, you will get a big difference in goal difference. Bayern has scored 27 goals and conceded 8 goals. But Dortmund has scored 14 goals and conceded 6 goals. As a result, Bayern's goal difference is 19 and Dortmund's is eight.

Anybody that have watched Borrusia Dortmund this season will know that they're very aggressive when it comes to performance and they will anything to win. Dortmund was not taking things softly when they face Bayern Munich, this is a serious competition for them and they took things to next level. The game ended in a draw because both side was elite and couldn't separate themselves from each other.

I think so, Leverkusen is no longer the formidable team it was last season, as its key players have been poached by clubs with greater financial stability. In my opinion, the teams in the Bundesliga that deserve attention right now are Freiburg, Werder Bremen & Elversberg. The three teams did something special, especially Elvsberg. They came up from the second division & subsequently became a fairly consistent team in the Bundesliga.

Leverkusen formidable last season? I think you might be talking about 2023/2024 season which they won the league and obviously not the last season and then as for the players that left I didn’t know of any great player that left this summer but rather they left in the 2025 summer when the likes of Wirtz, Frimpong and even TAH if I am correct left and they did this after the 2024/2025 season when Xabi Alonso joined Real Madrid aside tbid I don’t honestly think that Bayern Leverkusen have been any formidable at all, if one is to be fair it will be actually call them decent for qualifying for the Champions league last season. This season they have had mixed performances in both the league and in Europe and they need to start owning each match to go higher

Despite Vincent Kompany still being absent, Bayern earned a big win tonight in the Champions League.
They faced Atletico Madrid in an away game and returned victorious with a 2-0 win.
To be honest, I expected it to be a much tougher and much closer game. Atletico are currently ranked 2nd in La Liga, one point ahead of Real Madrid. Bayern did well in neutralising Atletico.

In another game, Stuttgart lost to Galatasaray 2-0 (away). They did very well last weekend, when they defeated Leverkusen 4-2, but were out of luck tonight. They tried hard and had plenty of chances, including shots of the post and crossbar, and a disallowed goal, but it just wasn't their day.

It takes a lot of money and a lot of time to build a team like Bayern Munich. It is never possible to build a team as strong as Bayern Munich in one season, it is possible to build such a team after caring for the league for a few seasons. Leverkusen is what we saw in the 2023-2024 season. If they could maintain their performance from then on and if they were able to make the team stronger by buying more big players instead of selling players. Then Leverkusen would definitely be a tough opponent for Bayern Munich in this season and in the 2025-2026 season as well.

The main issue for every team in the Bundesliga not being able to consistently compete with Munich lies in the financial instability of the clubs. This is clear with Dortmund who have the potential to compete with Munich every season, but when they start looking strong with their potential players they end up selling them. In fact, a few seasons ago many of Dortmund star players were often poached by Munich. All of this is done to maintain the club financial stability.

The same thing happened with Leverkusen after they had an impressive season in 2023-2024, even winning a trophy without losing a match. At that time, Leverkusen even made new history for the club, but after that they couldn’t keep their coach or their star players. Even though after winning the trophy Leverkusen didn’t immediately become bad they could still maintain a top 4 position, but if their play continues like it did against Hoffenheim and Stuttgart this season, I’m sure that not only competing with Munich for the trophy even competing for a top 4 spot will be difficult for Leverkusen.

I also think this upcoming match will be difficult because I consider Atletico a tougher opponent than Borussia Dortmund at the moment, and Bayern haven't been particularly convincing in their recent matches against stronger opponents either. However I don't think Kompany's absence has much of an impact on team selection or tactical decisions, as I assume he is still managing the team remotely.

Bayer leverkusen lacks the depths to win the title and take back their crown from Bayern munich. They dont have that strengths anymore because they are weak, they overall performance was better last season to an exten but it seem like they are got bad this season. I don't think leverkusen will have a coach like xabi Alonso, he was the best coach they've had in their entire history.  Under him they achieved a great record that will be difficult to break. Bayer leverkusen may win the title in the future but I don't think that they will ever play unbeaten, For now, they are far from achieving that records the second time but nothing is impossible in football, if they can buy quality players and play united, they could win the title and take the crown from Bayern Munich.

It seems Bayern has learned all the necessary lessons from their match against Dortmund. Playing away at Atlético Madrid has always been a difficult challenge for big clubs even Real Madrid and Barcelona have dropped points at Atlético’s home field. Yet, Bayern delivered a performance that saw them dominate the game from start to finish. With a 2-0 victory, they secured three points and navigated one of the Champions League’s toughest fixtures without any trouble. Their display suggests they are capable of reaching at least the semi-finals of this year’s Champions League. That said, looking at the way PSG is playing, they appear to be an incredible one with the power to easily defeat any opponent, including Barcelona.

Things seem to be going well for Bayern Munich following their away win against Atletico Madrid. The three points they secured in the Champions League were crucial, especially since they had dropped points in a 2-2 draw against Arsenal in Germany. They simply couldn't afford another mistake It was a challenging away fixture, but Bayern emerged victorious. Now, it’s time to refocus on the league they are set to face Mainz away from home, and I expect them to secure an easy win there as well.

This season they have had mixed performances in both the league and in Europe and they need to start owning each match to go higher

when they won the championship they were clearly superior to everyone else, and there's no question about that, they had an excellent team with an excellent coach, but when xabi alonso left them for real madrid they brought the team to ruin, the strongest players left and this was the bitter result for the team.

At that time, Leverkusen even made new history for the club, but after that they couldn't keep their coach or their star players. Even though after winning the trophy Leverkusen didn't immediately become bad they could still maintain a top 4 position, but if their play continues like it did against Hoffenheim and Stuttgart this season, I’m sure that not only competing with Munich for the trophy even competing for a top 4 spot will be difficult for Leverkusen.

In fact, when there was much less money in football, Monaco was still a very respectable team, but for the others there is really no way to financially counter this club which is very strong, once upon a time Dortmund was also always in the football that counts but for everyone they are always eternal seconds compared to Bayern Munich.

This situation will not change in the French and German leagues. There is a striking similarity between Bayern Munich and PSG both teams have dominated their respective leagues for many years, leaving the rest of the competition to fight merely for second place a summary that, I believe, accurately captures the general landscape of both leagues. Monaco is much weaker now than they used to be, and the same is true for Lyon. Competition in the French league is even more limited than in Germany PSG is so dominant there that they are unlikely to relinquish the title to anyone else.

They have been getting good results in the Champions League & it is highly likely that they will continue that positive trend in the Bundesliga as well. Given the odds that we can see below, it is impossible for Bayern Munich to lose.

They are now have the same points with Borussia Dortmund, they must win if they want to make a difference in the standings.

I don't think they were out of luck against Galatasaray, but had a lot of luck against Leverkusen Wink There is a nuanced difference in this.

As for Bayern, yes, Atletico Madrid was probably the worst I have ever seen from them in their home stadium. I thought it is going to be tough for Bayern to even win a point.

By the way, my friend, this is the Bundesliga thread, ya know? Wink

Best game of the coming week: Mainz - Bayern I guess?

I believe many people have reduce their expectations for Leverkusen since the last season. They are no longer the top contenders for the title, they are still struggling to get a win the league like they did last season. Two defeats in a row is unacceptable. The first defeat was Hoffenheim by three goals, I thought they would learned from that before they played against Stuttgart, but the same result by conceding four goals at home.

Even if the Leverkusen does not win at least I love the kind of effort they have been putting just for them to win, even of they don't win now at least if they are able to put things in check by bringing in more quality players because most times is not about buying a star it is about buying what will give you results and all this is happening because they have tested what victory is about  and they still have a lot kf work to do in that club.

Quote
Of course, Bayern Munich should focus on one major trophy this season, putting much effort in two tournaments isn’t going to be easy for them. I said this last season, Bayern Munich have won the league title for countless years, and if they want to win the Champions League, they need to rest some of their key players in the league matches. The Champions League should be their only priority now, not the league title.

They feel they are up to the task and since they are already competing in more than one then I don't see anything wrong with that because a time will come and even thus season to me Bayern Munich still the favorite to win the trophy but in the case of the champions league I don't think they can win.

Dortmund came back from Bayern's field with 1 point, which is a positive result for me at least. Especially after falling behind twice in that match, they managed to equalize, which was quite difficult. However, it would be foolish to assume that their overall performance is also equal just because the two teams are equal on points. Both teams have completed 8 matches and each has collected 8 points.

Even if the season should end today, Bayern Munich will be crowned the winner of the Bundesliga because of their goal difference which surpasses that of Dortmund. Bayern Munich is a bigger team to Dortmund as it stands now, but that doesn’t mean they can win the Bundesliga easily. Their match against Dortmund that was drawn was another sign to show them that they have a more competitive rival this season and anytime they slack, they may be faced with a lot of pressure to come back and win the title. Goal difference also matters and they shouldn’t joke with it when they come to scoring goals, that will help them in the league title race.
