We just need to think about taxes in a different way. Instead of something being forced upon everyone, make it something that one pays voluntarily, making it based on an honor system instead.
Governments can setup an address for each of their projects that needs funding, and people simply donate to the projects relevant to themselves. For those that are too lazy to figure out which project are relevant, the government can provide a pass-thru accounts where an agreed upon percentage is passed through to each project.
And the bitcoin blockchain comes with an added benefit of transparency. Anyone can verify that their funds are spent on the things they wanted to improve.

We already have that, it's called Kickstarter, all government needs to do is stop what ever they are doing and get out of the way.

Not all projects fit in a kickstarter model. There are many maintenance projects like road maintenance, garbage disposal, education, etc. that needs continuous funding.

Bullshit. Evidence: when people want something they gladly pay for it. Example: Kickstarter. So are you saying that people don't want roads or garbage disposal, or ect. ?

No, I just meant that Kickstarter you need to create a new project each time, and gather funding this way. So you need to create one for jan, feb, march, etc. it gets confusing.
Unless there is a way to create a continuous funding project on Kickstarter that I missed.

I think we can agree that a subscription service isn't something unheard off and would be easily implemented if people wanted to use a service.

Actually I think you both have a good point but perhaps the Kickstarter platform was not really designed for the purpose the OP was thinking of.
I will be releasing a system soon that is perhaps far more suited to the OP's funding ideas than the current crowd-funding models (it will be its own guinea pig so we will see how it fares).

The re-occuring aspect for kickstarter typish website via bitcoin ( check out Bitcoinstarter.com) to help fund roads, garbage pick-up isn't to far fetch of an idea. Good thinking!

yes, this is what can support usefull things and kill "sh*ts" .. make taxes a bit lower.. in worse case, keep them same, but, ther must be option how to decide what do you want to pay... and which not

So the government will provide a good or service and we can pay for it if we want it. Sounds like Voluntaryism.

Umm...my garbage service is private. $10 a month. Great service. Mine is a government-enforced monopoly at $20 a month, and they're really inconsistent about what time of day they empty their barrels. Yeah, government is awesome!
