It is annoying as I want 1 more and I am waiting for the first one to show up as paid before I order the second one.
I never place orders over 2500 from china as I had a few tie up in customs for weeks.
So I figured I will place them 2 or 3 hours apart. SInce they have had this cancel your order error happen for close to 2 years to hundreds of buyers I knew to wait before the second order.
So if this sells out before they tell me the first one clears I won't be able to order a second one. Pretty annoying.
That is irritating. Interesting strategy breaking the orders up to avoid customs delays. It's been a while since I've ordered from Bitmain. Do they declare the full purchased dollar value to customs? I thought that they declared less (like the materials value or something). Maybe the hang up in customs you saw was just a random event. There was a warning when I ordered indicating that spot checks can result in a delay of a couple of weeks. I'm planning on buying more too, but I'm splitting the order because I don't have enough BTC in my wallet I guessed wrong about the price and underestimated. Transfers from Coinbase take forever, and I don't have a high enough instant buy limit to make a difference. Maybe I can scrounge up a coupon from someone while waiting. I'll probably end up with new orders in batch 2.

500W PSUs almost never have 3 PCIe connectors and bitmain also asks for a separate PSU for controller IF multiple PSUs are used (you supposed to first turn on hashing boards PSUs, then controller PSU).

You could just plug the controller to the last PSU you turn on. Powering the last blade + controller at the same time will not cause any issues.

In any case Corsair 500 has only one already split PCie cord. Will it work?

The new Antminer S7 have been released with a much better power efficiency, so I will be hosting it for 50 USD/month. Bitmain sent me 100$ coupons for S7 Antminers, so if you are interested in my hosting service I will let you use them. Please check this: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1159107.0 (Most of the questions have been already answered)

Would you be able to hold on with people reporting on this "screaming" sexy gear?
TBH, it's the "screaming" part that ultimately gave me pause this round That, and I can't make the numbers work out for ROIing on these before the next block halving. Will be looking towards underclocking reports and how quiet these units can be made to run. Might be interested in a unit should they become more economically and sonically reasonable. We need some pricing competition for Bitmain. Badly.

My first one has been corrected to paid so I ordered my second. Waiting for it to get noticed and mark paid. https://blockchain.info/tx/fac7b1292485281268717188a2b558e0cba18ac5affbf036af890a8e4ac971e1I paid 0.0002 as a fee but with all the buyers today it was marked medium vs high priority. now here is progress last year 4 s-5's pulled 2400-2500 watts and did 4600gh this year 2 s-7's will pull 2400-2500 watts and do 9700gh. I have a spot for one of these s-7's at 2.4 cents per kwatt I had 2 coupons donated to me so thank you each.

"If you use different PSU for hash boards and control board, please make sure to power the hash boards first and the control board only after the hash boards have been powered."

You need to look more at the capsity of the 12V line than the raw wattage. The PS needs at LEAST 30A for the hash boards alone ON ONE RAIL, preferably 35A for any safety margin, and AT LEAST 3 PCI-E connectors, not "split" unless 16AWG wiring is used. Then add 5A if one PS is running both a hash board AND the controller board AND one more PCI-E connector (Fans will eat at least 4A alone). The design of the hash boards makes it appear you MIGHT be able to get away with 2 per hash board, but DEFINITELY NOT SPLIT PCI-E if so unless 16AWG or better is used. The S5 had that SAME warning about turn on order, just need to be sure the controller is on the last PS you turn on if you use multiple PS. With only 2 PCI-E connectors I doubt that Corsair will work at ALL. Probably a split-rail design with less than 30A on either rail. Additionally, I doubt the wiring is heavy enough. You want at least a Gold PS, not a Bronze. It's a noticeable efficiency loss that WILL cost you significant money. The 40A rail is good. The connectors look like a split pair, but I couldn't get the picture with the "better" view of the cabling to load. IF they are NOT split, it should work.

30a on 12v is not enough! 35a i would call a minimum and still risky!
i prefer the 1300w model!
