Used DHL and mine is at

5   Clearance event   SHENZHEN - CHINA, PEOPLES REPUBLIC   02:47

Details =>  Clearance is pending as the shipment will be cleared by the importer's designated external Broker.

Should I contact Bitmain ?

EDIT1: Apparently they didn't properly fill all the documents .... hope this is not going to take forever to fix ....
EDIT2: No ones in the same boat ?.
EDIT3: I'm really pissed off ...

I think DHL is one of the outlier companies.. most use FedEx or UPS

I would agree.  I avoid using DHL like the plague.    There are a few that prefer it.  But I think it's a very small few overall.

I would contact DHL and ask them what they need.  If it's something you can do or if you need bitmain to do someting.

One of the outlier companies, have you ever been to Europe or Asia? In any case I have had the least problems with DHL, followed by FedEx, and I've had the most pain with UPS.. Shipments valued from a few hundred to a few hundred thousand dollars..

In short your SSN / EIN is needed if the value is over I think $2500, if not it could still be required if the shipment was reviewed..

On a regular basis shipments coming in get tagged for review, regular basis as in almost daily so with a roll of the dice you might win at some point, especially if the word Bitcoin is on the paperwork, they get special attention sometimes..

I mentioned a few will prefer DHL.  It just is not the majority.  I wish there was a poll we could do.

You will notice in talks most don't choose DHL in this thread.   UPS/Fedex seem to get more people.  Yes europe/asia could be different.

I hope they do a price drop for batch 2 or I can't justify buying one.

Also interesting 21 announced their first product for sale to the public today, .17 J/GH
http://www.coindesk.com/21-inc-bitcoin-computer-developers/

I'm out ...at 13.5c kwh here in the USA....this boat don't float Sad

(In the wave of 20/20 hindsight I have 2 Titan(s) and a 100 amp service.....so even if I could swing it probably would not pay to upgrade to 200 amp service
even if the price was right ...so.......I guess it was not destined to be in either case with btc difficulty and price at this time in either senario) Smiley

Reality sucks Smiley

Don't Loose hope.  You can search online for a better rate or call the Electric Company and have them lock you in on a lower rate.  Need you in the game buddy!

Again to re-cap no way I can swing this at 13.5c kwh. The price of these units would have to go down DRAMATICALLY and hey they are the only game in town
now selling home miners (well close to not working on a normal house) home miners anyway

At the way btc difficulty is going up and the price of BTC and the BTC dev FUD and general cluelessnes...there are probably more 'fun' ways to toss my $$$ in a
stove and burn it Smiley

Its a no go already asked....xcel.....I was told if i used more then 3.5k a month but even with the panel upgrade and 2 titans (which would be doorstops by maybe jan)
I'd prob only push close to that....

I'd install the panel myself but again xcel licensed electrican must be on hand when power is turned on as well as the elec inspector too to sign off with the xcel truck
before they will restore power (i kid you not called the elec inspector and xcel both confirmed...I just assume they want the electrican there too in that he put it in
in case something blows up when he turns the power on) some of this (not sure how much is CITY code) probably the elec inspector on hand and no fire up till he
says so...but it sucks Smiley

and the 'base' rate for ANY (even my simple 200A panel) is 2.5k it goes up from there....pretty much locked up on stuff...all the electrican's it was 2.5K up ..if you
are a home owner and ask to go from 100 amp to 200 amp they know they got you *much like driveway repair* if you need it ...you need it and thats the price Smiley

I have dreams of winning the lottery and just putting up solar to screw them Smiley

Could be worse know someone with solar off the grid in Hawaii and the utils there don't HAVE to buy power back even thou it is like 35c or some such a kwh there
and Hawaii has the most home solar? I think I heard (could be wrong) at least Minnesota they buy back extra solar elec back to the grid you don't need a big
battery setup like in Hawaii....but don't help me in that I won't be putting up solar soon anyway Smiley

anyway tried twice was told same thing on both the panel and the xcel pricing 2x  ..supposedly with higher ups the 2nd time in both cases...so.....I may be getting played (should find a guy with a welder shop between the two of us we could probably drain enough juice to qualify) Smiley

It won't matter eventually even home mining at 5c won't be worth it (assuming anyone will sell chips rather then keep them at their data farm after development)

So out in the sticks w/o some other foo....er I mean enlightened home miner type to do this hobby with (or 2 or 3) I'm out (unless I want a toy to lose $$$ on)

But to tell you the truth this miner would be tough if I had the capacity and if it was really 8c kwh vs 13.5c kwh

But again I urge you all to prepare for your home miner 'withdrawal' in the future....I got a bitseed node v2 and 2 sidehack 8gb usb sticks for 56 bucks and shipping just
so say in 2016-17 I don't go into the basement (desolate it will be) and see NO lcd's or anything ...at least with the node and the usb sticks I will have the illusion
of doing something Smiley (the withdrawal is gonna be hard in my case ....i drank a lot of kool aid in the bitcoin/litecoin universe) Smiley

my setup below (Notice the KNC 550gh Jupiter BTC miner on the bottom shelf now OFF and used as a 'gravity assistance device to keep the miner bench down) Smiley

lostgonzo.imgur.com

yep.....gonna be rough when I shut the whole works down..... Sad

Mine for a Bit

Just got an update on my shipping that was to be dilivered on Wednesday.  Here is the update:

09/22/2015   8:22 A.M.   A valid ID # (tax, personal, deferment) required for clearance is missing. We're working to obtain this information.
09/22/2015   8:21 A.M.   The package is awaiting clearing agency review. / The package is at the clearing agency awaiting final release.

I hope this is not going to be a delay.

Give them a call and make sure to provide them any information they are missing ASAP.
Happened to me twice with KNC Jupiters and Spondoolies systems.
Caused a few days in delay and ended up costing me a few bitcoins in profit Sad

Thank you so much!!!  They are in KY and said that all they needed was my tax id or ssn.  I gave it to them and they said that they would release it.  Whew!  Thanks Again!!

I am just curious why UPS would need your SSN or tax id #. In the past they never asked for that information for my S3 to C1 shipments. My S7s are coming on the 24th, so far no hold up.

Same here, all my miners from Bitmain came UPS thru the KY hub and never had a person ask anything like that either?

I have never been asked SSN or tax id either for any miner.  On the bitmain psu they shipped it at a lower weight then it was, I had to write UPS a check for that.    But I cant see what SSN would have to do with miner shipment.

I just received a shipment update for my orders......TODAY!!!!   I will be hooking some up to 220 with the PSU that Bitmain sells and some S7s with 750W Platinum PSUs to see which is more efficient.  EXCITING!!!

I ordered a unit the first day with shipping to California via FedEx. It's already in Oakland (an hour away) and will be delivered by 10:30 AM PDT.

That's less than 4 hours from now!

It's also my wife's birthday, but she won't see this as a present Wink

That, and it is only available for bulk customers. So I don't think you can just get an individual unit unless you can put together a massive group buy Shocked

bitmains response would be to drop S7 at least to $1500 or 6.5 BTC, where it should have been in the first place.

it would be doable if you can split hash from each board individually, which is a possibility, of course.

Pretty sure those of use who ordered S7s will never ROI. SP50s will destroy any chance we had with the massive difficulty increases they will cause.

probably, but it is one thing not to ROI to the tune of a couple of hundred and another to have the same with 25-30K investment.
I expect bitmain to go and price S7 super aggressively if SPT will price theirs at or slightly above 25K.

i dunno, you gotta think people would be upgrading their large scale farms to sp50's which would take down existing gear.. diff will go up but it wont be massive.

unless of course said farms keep existing gear and just add on the sp50's.. or a plethora of new farm's come online

I doubt it'll change the S7's price. Maybe if they were available to the public, but they're not. Even if they were, they are nowhere close to being in the same league. Spondoolies is Intel, Bitmain is Cyrix...
