You don’t have to have a team but unless your good it can get annoying i assume I honestly like the teams its made me sooooo much of a better player when you take on 2 and 3 man teams and can pop and eat them then its pat your self on the back time.  You all need to look at that Prop you guys wouldn’t be as good as you are (just throw up alittle giving you all a compliment like that) if it wasn’t for teams.

I agree with you, teams ain't bad by design, but need to be channeled into their own playground (or into a shipping crate going back to Spain). I always giggle when 3-4 of those sexy little blobs are amassing into one, but not before I launch a perfect blob into their midst and instantaneously grow enormous and become them... lol. And then I go and make some stupid mistake and Sam or someone else who hates me steals my glory

please excuse our recent lack of communication with you guys. We are still determined to make chopcoin a success and increase the number of active players. Therefore we planned and scheduled an extensive 2.0 update including various performance improvements, two new games and an in-game shop besides other new features. Unfortunately we need to get legally incorporated and sort out some accounting/tax issues before we approach the update. As you know regulation and legal certainty with regard to Bitcoin is still lacking which delays our process of incorporation.

However; we aim to become the central hub for Bitcoin enabled skill-based gambling and are hopeful for the future. In the meantime we will implement a few quick fixes to tackle current issues:

Teaming
From the beginning of chopcoin we had a somewhat laissez-faire approach to teaming. We didn't see it as cheating but rather as cooperation to win matches. Everybody is free to form own teams so it's fair game. Nevertheless we considered the community's concerns with regard to teaming. As stated before enforcing a no-teaming policy is problematic. But you also suggested several mechanisms we could implement to make teaming at least more difficult. We decided to give it a try for a couple of weeks and will implement several steps shortly (hinder identification via name and colour, ban teaming users, unannounced changes of the game mechanics). The 2.0 update includes a specific team-mode but is still away a couple of months.

Empty playgrounds
The more players play chopcoin the more entertaining and profitable it gets. We are growing but it will take some time until we can fill the playgrounds continuously. Thus we will try to focus and only open up the paid playgrounds at a specific time of the day for a specific duration, hoping that all players will come together for that time of the day. Somewhat like a regular tournament. Details will be announced soon.


What we earn due to the fees is negligible and the advertisement hardly pays for the faucet. The server costs are completely financed from our own pocket. Right now chopcoin is not profitable but still a great project and we enjoy working with the community. Nevertheless we can't keep this going forever and need your support. What are your suggestions? What would you like to see? How can we attract more players?

I was recently playing http://bubble.am/ ... they offer a 500 uBTC reward for winning the tournament, to be paid within 48 hours. However, they didn't pay.
But they have much more players than chopcoin (say 100,000!), and I do love their MegaSplit playground. Can you experiment with this? Split into 256 balls, merge tiny balls in a fraction of a second, 30 seconds for big balls? It gives a completely different game play.
Right now chopcoin is often boring due to lack of players. A faster split makes it less boring.

This is not about the problem in the future. The problem is now.
For a new player without much experience the game does not make any sense. Even Faucet level is occupied by cheating players.
And unfortunately I have no idea how to solve this problem.
It is a pity, because the game is very addictive.

we wanted to give you a short info about the stuff that was going on the last days.

We updated some parts of the game:

- Message of the day added
- New notifications system added for the chat to inform about server actions
- Real names added to player nodes to be able to better act against teams
- Skins are disabled / Private skins are bind to player names now (http://chopcoin.io/learn/skins/)

Faucet Server
The faucet changes the game mode every 2 hours. A notification for the next mode that gets activated get send to the chat.
From 20:17 UTC -> 22:00 UTC the faucet closes every day to focus on paid playground for that time.

I would definitely go for making it impossible to team up somehow, maybe by randomly changing the colors of the spheres so if there is people teaming up over a skype conservation it will be way harder to keep track, also don't show people's names.

Oh colors already change automated. But we decided against no names to be able to act against teams as it looks it works well right now.

We added a little update today. The 'W' key is now limited to 5/s. This got added because some guys used a script to floot mass with w and it was not fair against people that did not use it.

For all that love to hold the key to flood mass we added a new key 'Q'. Try it out!

We also added the game option mouse control. You will be able to use the mouse to split and shoot mass if you enable it.

I have a request: is it possible to give my own blobs a unique color that does not change (for me)? It's fine to see other colors for other people, and changing them all the time is fine too, but changing my color too gets confusing sometimes. For example, I was red with more than 10 blobs, someone else was red too and came in for the attack. It's virtually impossible to keep track of who-is-who in that case.
If I could be red, and all the other users keep changing colors to anything-but-red, that would be perfect!

Edit: I see names are back, in that case it doesn't matter anymore

I saw another site named agar.io had more number of participants than this one and it had integration of country flags as well wich looks awesome if you want to represent for a country and play as a pseudo team since other players belonging to the same country might not feel right to gobble you.

Anyways try to start a signature campaign if you really want more new participants.
