nah. I think most topics need to self moderated or if it's doing well it gets flooded with fuds and competitors.

stay away from new coins and you will never have to face any problem...stick with coins that are old

Complete bullshit, you can't entirely rate a crypto of how long it has been around, best innovations happening are the newer coins, old coins were just a bitcoin/litecoin copy past crap.

innovation to sell snake oil bout the only innovative in coins the last 2 years.

Biggest snake oil is the shitty bitcoin copy past litecoins your are bagholding. this newer coin/older coin is the most retarded indicator i have seen and gets posted by those who cant invest in newer promising start ups.

and this is what's missing with 99.9% of the older coins which are just a bitcoin copy and will always be used within the crypto circle or just traders who are only looking to exchange them for btc anyway. litecoin is actually doing very poor.

Only reluctantly getting involved in the Wacky World of Altcoins, and getting vaguely back on subject, I posted in that GCR thread and got immediately deleted

I come at this from the MLM direction, not particularly concerned with the coin itself, more with the increasing way professional Ponzi/MLM scammers are trying to use altcoins to widen their nets, i.e. OneCoin and ClubCoin, the latter being introduced by the bunch in my signature (click for link to scam accusation thread).
These coins are being used in conjunction with conventional hard selling mlm schemes, in the hope that non savvy punters will be blinded by science and accept worthless PoS tokens in exchange for supposed cash accruals on their investments.
These are BIG, $100m being talked about for OneCoin and probably tens of millions by the time BCN/Clubcoin melts down.

That's why I left negative trust on the GCR OP.
As you know, there is an unmoderated thread about GCR too

You shouldn't be investing in any new coins right now. The market is completely oversaturated. A "new coin" (we'll define it as less than 6 months old) has about a 1 in 100 shot of gaining any sort of adoption or meaningful popularity. You might think you have a leg up and can tell the crap from the gold but the odds are waaaay against you.

While I believe that self-moderated threads tend to devolve into fascist circle-jerks faster than non-moderated threads, it is not a 100% indicator of shitcoinage.

the only smart answer i have seen so far
what cryptocurrency(bitcoin) need right now is adoption, not get rich quick jerk nonsense promise after promise scam coins, which have 0.00001% chance of adoption compare to bitcoin

do you actually trade much? few crypto traders exchange for bitcoin, bitcoin is the worst trading reserve to use, hence why my reserve is litecoin, not for any other reason then by necessity (ie i have no emotional attachment to any crypto).

and yes litecoin is becoming more of the traders coin then a currency, but guess in the real world how currencies get their 'price'.

What? 95% of all trades on exchanges involve BTC, whether you are buying or selling.

So you only trade on the LTC markets? You should realize that the price of litecoin is absolutely dependent on bitcoin, since most people cash out BTC to fiat and not LTC to fiat.

I have a few bridgecoins I'd like to sell you.

not only on self-moderated threads. always do your due diligence, google the devs. check if they're known for running shady schemes. look out for obvious shills.

If you have a self-moderated thread, then people will complain about having their posts deleted but you can't do that with a non-moderated thread without locking everything and mods routinely remove off-topic posts anyways. People can tell the difference between shills or not so it would just be better to have a thread non-moderated and let people say whatever they want rather than editing history to make it rainbows and sunshine.
