Sup guys,

As a broke ass college student who is interested in mining,  I'm looking for ways to get my hands on a miner (any algo).  I can't afford to spend hundreds and hundreds of dollars (limit would be 200 max) so an older model could work, but I just don't know where to shop and what to avoid.

Anyone trying to get rid of their antiques?  Grin

Anyone recommend a solid, relatively cheap miner?

Thanks in advance

We're going to need a bigger heatsink.

I suggest doing a pencil mod on those s1s to undervolt them, if the seller hasn't already. It greatly improves efficiency, reduces noise, and requires less investment into PSUs. It'll slightly reduce your hashrate (from 180GH/s each to about 140), but its well worth it. Plus, its a fun project!

Guide: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aqhB96fSh64
You'll need a multimeter and a pencil to do it.

ALSO: Note that the person you are talking to is a newbie. BE CAREFUL! Watch out, do not send btc upfront to him. Use a TRUSTED escrow agent (like ognasty or sebastianju), scams happen very often in this forum!

Nothing personal to lunacy, just remember to be careful.

Always use escrow. OgNasty is pretty sweet.

Help me out with compiling a list of mining datacenters!
