Like with other topics that starts with " is bitcoin the..." in most cases my answer is that bitcoin have potential to be that. Will bitcoin be that, successfulness depends from many things.
Now we see that interest in bitcoin gambling is higher then ever before. Looks like this anonymity and fast registration without leaving to many documents is something that people generally like. From me its much better, bitcoin opened a new door for me, before I couldn't gamble on many sites cause I'm from Serbia, now with bitcoin I have much more freedom in choosing things.

I heard that in the UK also some stores are accepting Bitcoin as payment, but I am not 100% sure.
