What is the most profitable type of gambling?

I'm not much of a gambler myself, but when I gamble I play poker. Poker can be very profitable, but it is very time consuming as well. Betting and casinos,  are not my type. so, what's your opinion on what could be more profitable?

Gambling is not very profitable, because in the long run you will always lose... that's why so many casinos exist.  If you do get on a hot streak in any type of gambling game though, take it and run.  Gambling is always meant to be something that is fun and passes time for entertainment, I wouldn't make it into a career by any means.

  The only thing I can see that would be profitable and considered "gambling" in some sense is to invest in something, whether trading other cryptos or trying your luck on ponzi's ... there are tons of scams out there so be careful wherever you put your money though.

Nevertheless, we a see a lot of professional gamblers. And the ones who seem to keep their way are concentrated either on poker or in the sports betting \trading industry.

Sports betting can be +EV, but a lot of casino games are designed to never be +EV, that's how they make money.

That might be true in games where the house has an edge against you.

Sports cappers such as Billy Walters have a system that has been consistently winning for years.

I'm not saying that every gambler will be profitable but to say you always lose in the long run is wrong.

thats because it is possible to consistently profit in the long run in poker/sportsbets. unlike other typical gambling games, these are not bets against the house. in poker for example, it is possible to win consistently in a way that will overall increase your bankroll. with sportsbooks, it is possible to gain an edge by playing the displayed opening odds, researching, etc. both do take time, but it can be treated as a full time job with enough expertise.

EV+ gambling is profittable but that means you need to only gamble when there is promotions for that so if you want to gamble just choose that has the lowest house edge, that would be blackjack to play

Don't get me wrong, I know that some people can become profitable by gambling in poker and that kind of thing... but in all reality these people lead to have no lives in investing their time solely on that one game. Hell, my brothers roommate in college was the richest kid I have ever met in my entire life and it was because of online poker... he ended up becoming professional and going to the WSP.

But at what cost? On weekends, he would skip out on party's/barhoping with us and would go barricade himself in a small cubicle at the university's library and stay there for hours or even a full day at times... Now he became very successful with what he did, made 100K+ at least, but hopefully you get my point..

Skill based games aren't always profitable. Suppose you are pretty experienced and lucky, it is. But if you aren't, the edge (in say sports betting) is much greater than other types of pure luck games (coz sportsbooks take more than that into account while calculating odds).

I agree, Poker and Sports betting seems to be the most profitable but its easier said then done, Poker takes a lot of time to perfect and which requires sitting on money table and playing a lot of hands and same is with Sports betting, people rush into it thinking it's easy money but it's not, it  requires a lot of experience and teams study but if one is ready to put in the extra effort then they will surely be profitable in the long run imo. Also in my view playing Poker at face to face tables is much more real and profitable than the online ones because at online Poker you can't read people's face expression and you can't see the subtle hints they make when they're bluffing so it is more difficult to win at online Poker.

Interesting question you proposed there. Gambling is what it is a gamble I presume that poker players are more likely to make a little return then say a blackjack player it all depends on the amount of time you have to play.

The mos profitable thing about gambling it is to not participate at all. In this way it is for sure that you will not lose any money and that money saved can be used for other fun. Gambling is not fun is to lose money. And to lose money is disaster.
