Hello everyone,

I have developed a Bitcoin-themed board game. It's a "print-and-play" game meaning that you need print it out (PDF files), and then make and supply some of the parts for the game yourself. Copyright is free for personal use (for now).

The game "simulates" the growth of the Bitcoin economy in a slightly humorous way (please don't take it seriously). The twist of the game is that you can either player cooperatively or to win individually. To win cooperatively you need to bring the Bitcoin price over 60$, otherwise an individual winner is determined. There is also one player who plays "Satoshi" and whoever reveals him gets a big advantage.

The game can also be played by people who don't know anything about Bitcoin (although they will miss some of the jokes). I could imagine this game would also be a nice introduction to Bitcoin.

You can download the PDF files from here:
http://cjgames.com/downloads/Bitcoin_Board_Game.zip (3MB)

It still needs some testing so I would welcome anybody to play it and send me some feedback.

If anybody wants to improve the artwork you are welcome to do so. I just used a standard clipart collection. Please contact me for the original files.

You can also donate to support this project:

Have fun!!!

One critic though: you should use different pics for each of the notes. Bernank, Greenspan, etc. whatever the names of those criminals are. take one for each fun bux denomination! Grin

This is cool!

My favourite line in the rules: "One player is 'Satoshi'. He can only win if everybody wins."

I have a first suggestion:
How about playing the game counter-clockwise?

Yes it should be counterclockwise play...

Also - I sort of hate the game board. I get it, it's supposed to be printable. But wouldn't it be nicer as a pentagon or hexagon shaped board that more resembled an typical boardgame? Also I'd like to see some more outlandish events... and some additional players (lets leverage existing personallities and memes into the game) at least we should Put Gavin in it...

Newest version is now 1.0.1. Rules for two players have been added.
Also the download URL has been changed (see first post).

Would people be interested in a VASSAL module for the Bitcoin Board Game?

Vassal is a game engine which allows people to play board games online. You have to make a "module" for the board game to be simulated online.

Check it out here:

Just took a look at the game and it seems pretty awesome! I think vassal might be a good idea in this situation (so I don't have to print anything off Tongue)

Bump for reaching $40.

I would like to mention that I made this game about 6 months ago when prices like these were hardly imaginable.

When we hit $60, according to my game, then we win!

This would be a great project to put on Kickstarter or similar (there was a bitcoinstarter.com but it's down at the moment) and get crowdfunding to get it done properly and all the contributors get a copy of the boardgame Smiley
