I love this. Atlas as an enforcer for the very thing he hates most.
His intentions are so obvious. He will join the dark forces, and destroy them from within with furious vengence. He will become national hero, women obsession, an icon of masculinity. New cults and religions will form to worship The One True. Following decades and centuries will see no end of songs, poems and movies made to pay honors, and children will chant "Remember, remember, Atlas the Dismember".

Good luck. Do you know much about the recruitment process? It takes months here and includes physical and psychological testing.

Good luck. Do you know much about the recruitment process? It takes months here and includes physical and psychological testing. I have a feeling it's much longer than Wal-Mart indoctrination week. I am ready for anything. I've been sitting on my ass for too long. As long as I'm not in charge of towing hundreds of pallets in less than 2 hours, I think I'll survive. And thanks!

It's a shame there's nothing that could be done on the internet to earn a living, therefore people could stay home and work, thus not having to commute to some city or town tens of miles away to earn their bread and butter so come Friday they can go to Walmart and purchase bread and butter. If only there were an internet foundation thingy to bring this brainfart of mine to fruition, then people like Atlas wouldn't be in this rat trap any longer.
~Bruno~
I think he should sell bread and butter on the internet.

The economy is really bad. Really bad. There are literally no startups hiring near my area. Little to no small business is openly hiring.
So, my choices have been Wal-Mart (tried it, sucked, people are now walking out with good reason), another large grocery chain and the public sector. I've already decided retail isn't for me. So, I'm left with mostly public sector jobs. I have to wait a few more years to become a police officer. There is a job cleaning up shit at the animal shelter... ooh, security grunt and admission jobs at the local jail. You have to deal with inmates all day but the pay is great.
So, yeah, I am going to try to get a job dealing with society's rejected, violent and other non-conformists with a greater chance of being killed than I would in a typical job. I like it.
Let's see what happens. Anyone here ever worked corrections before?
Let me put this out there. I've talked with correctional officers, and they say most of the inmates are nice. Just always be alert, and watch out for people like these. Just watch marathons of Lockup on MSNBC, and you'll be good.

C'mon Atlas. Give the inmates a break. They were sentenced to jail time, not to "Listen to Atlas 8hrs a day". That punishment is reserved for bitcointalk.org users lol

Rumor has it that Cell Block H is getting a new correction officer, hence some inmates getting tattoos to welcome the new arrival. While others still opting for the traditional tattoo, names of their loved ones.

To be honest, the idea of using teenagers as corrections officers/security guards scares the crap out of me. I hope that the training is world class, but I suspect that it won't be given everything I've read about the US correctional system (and Texas).

My brother in law is a Lt at the local jail, he does not hire anyone young at all. Boredom tends to get the best of them, and the new guys always work the crappy shifts. "Young ones belong on a bike patrolling parks."

I landed in this country with $2.50 in cash and $1 million in hopes, and those hopes never left me.

A long, long time ago I did a degree in criminology and criminal justice. One of the problems which was identified both within policing and within corrections related to the issues which arise when you use young male officers to exert authority over young male offenders - you end up with a lot of unnecessary conflict and can unintentionally create an environment in which abuse of authority is almost inevitable.

Maybe the older officers are wiser about hiding the abuse.
