What happened to all the old timers?

Old timers are probably away from this forum but are very much active in investing in bitcoin. For speculation discussion, I always visit TradingView as I feel that the proposals there have more substance compared to the repetitive "BITCOIN IS DEAD" and "HODL TO THE MOON" threads here in bitcointalk. Eh for me it was pretty much this sort of behavior with Icebreaker being a prime example. I respect the dude he has a lot of insight into btc and its ecosystem but the level of hateful ad hominem vitriol he has been spewing just turned me off and I didn't feel like participating in the discussion. Not that I'd have too much to say anyway. Just using him as an example now, there have been others, many many others.

I thin there are no more old timers almost majority of them have sold their coins and enjoying with cash money.What remain they are just waiting for Bitcoin to reach all time higher in few years.Some of them will keep holding for years through think and thin.

Finally you show some humor. Obviously discord is to be cherished for the boundless source of unpredictable creativity it is but FUCK 'EM IF THEY CAN'T TAKE A JOKE. This humorless, serious-business trench warfare of opinions has me bored to tears and is nothing I will have any part of. Which is just as well - we Discordians must stick apart. Do you even understand what it means to be a POPE? The part about infallibility does NOT extend beyond the confines of your own nervous system and people not grokking this makes for a bland taste of discord indeed.

If you don't get the (albeit occasionally bone dry or tounge-in-cheek) jokes, it's because you are being an easily-offended frump (and they are often engineered precisely to be at the expense of the thin-skinned).



But that's fine, even ideal, as your astute point about how "Discordians must stick apart" illustrates.

I suspect your Gavinista sympathies are the reason why you somehow missed the hilarious meta level absurdity of our "serious-business trench warfare" over an obscure internet nerd fight!

I used to follow the GCBU thread but got bored eventually. And nope it's not because I'm an "easily-offended frump", more because I found the endless stream of the same few arguments peppered with heavy doses of lame ad hominems to be boring. And this goes for both sides of that "debate".

I am no "Gavinista" - I'm someone who has no clue and thus hasn't made up their mind yet. Which is precisely the reason why I was eager to read well-presented arguments and perspectives arguing for this or that. I have learned my lesson and will have lower expectations the next time around. Here's how I defined my role in case you care (manual quote because topic is locked):

I am very aware that I have little to no technical knowledge to offer in this space. That is why I limit my activity to the one beneficial service I can provide: pointing out, that we are all allies in the intellectual fight against centralized one world government and in order to succeed, we need to leave our egos at the door, lest we just end up mimicking the struggle for becoming top-dog, alpha-males, claiming control over what people should do and think, which makes up the current structure of TPTB. We need discord for the decentralized agenda, so let's be friendly about it, shall we. Discord can be a lot of fun.

But well Tradefortress started it with inputs and an addicting campaign, Stunna ramped it up and here we are now still waiting on a theoretical new forum that will clean it all up.

Or you know Theymos decides to double down on the ranks again, sort of inflation adjusting.
